If you are like me and do not want to spend $299.00 for a leather steering wheel, Toyota has a wheelskin that fits great for $59. P/N PTS285204001.
This is made specifically for the Scion.

My local dealer did not stock it, but was able to get it in a couple of days from his warehouse.

Looks good. I think I would just want to find a used steering wheel & swap it in though. Maybe something from like a celica or something.

That would void warranty and screw up the Airbag Fault Monitoring system.

How would it? If the steering wheel is from another toyota that has a air bag, would it not just be plug & play? I thought I saw some one do this before on the forum.

People on forums do a lot of dumb things.

How tight does it fit? How far does it go up the spokes on the wheel? I had a wheelskin leather kit for my audi a4 and it looked like garbage, I hope this one is better because I do like leather stearing wheels.

You can get a two-tone wheelskin like that for half that cost on EBay...

I'll pass, they look like crap. They don't go up the spokes high enough so they look cheesy. If you want quality you're better off going for the real leather wheel.

I've got one in black, it's pretty nice. Better than plastic, but not as good as the scion one. However, a $30 leather cover is a hell of a lot cheaper than a $250 leather steering wheel so I'm happy. I'll post pictures if people want me to.

This is the topic I was talking about, swaping out the whole steering wheel.
