I have the new 08 projectors for my 07 tC. I currently have the 6000K McCollough brand HID kit that I bought from hondaboi. Should I stick with the H11 6000K McCollough or go with the Philips 6000K? Let me know.

Yanki01 06-30-2007, 12:26 AM philips doesnt make "kits". i believe they only make bulbs which are d2s or d2r and those are only for OEM projectors not halogen projectors. Daurigon 06-30-2007, 01:01 AM no. they make kits. look. http://www.xenonpros.com/philips6000k.html Daurigon 06-30-2007, 01:03 AM here is the mcCollough one http://www.xenonpros.com/mc6000k.html Daurigon 06-30-2007, 01:07 AM So I had a quick question. Are the connections from the HID ballast to the stock harness in the car, are they all the same and only the bulbs are different or does an H11 kit have the H11 harness and a 9006 kit have the 9006 harness? I ask because the stock harness is 9006 for the 07 tC and the new head lights are the H11 so I'm not too sure if it would be better to buy a brand new kit or use the ballast's connected to the car with H11 bulbs. Yanki01 06-30-2007, 01:19 AM good knock off i guess? I forgot they do make the ballast but only comes with d2s or d2r bulbs, they do not come in any other bulb type. i believe the connections are 9006? since your buying them for you HALOGEN projectors which are h11 since, buy that size cause it looks like it comes with a relay but i cant tell if its just alot of wires? i think the ballast and bulbs might both be different? I think that the ballast have a 9006 harness that is specific to the kit that you buy. i am just going to buy replacement bulbs for H11 from McCollough. Thanks anyway. Thanks anyway. key word in bold. i wont get into that again. the ballast should have a 9006 connection so you should be ok if you order the h11 since that will be the bulb size to fit into the projector. Daurigon 06-30-2007, 02:29 PM okay, so the final word. If I buy a new H11 kit, it should have a connection that will connect to the stock 07 harness which is 9006. I hope this is right... Yanki01 06-30-2007, 05:39 PM "should" yes if it looks like the picture does. Daurigon 07-02-2007, 02:01 AM i called a bunch of places and got the final answer. a (insert bulb size here) kit has the h11 or 9006 or whatever bulbs size you choose, and it has the matching harness for the corresponding bulb size. i have to call xenonpros.com tomorrow and see if McCollough will make me a custom kit with H11 bulbs and the 9006 ballast. I know I should probably just buy new bulbs and that would be it, but with new projectors and my project almost completed, I feel I should renew the lighting on it. :) |
