This happened just a few blocks up the road from my house. I had to wait for the fire to be put out and the power lines to be cleared to finish my route. I also just happened to have my camera on me.
I asked a police officer and this is NOT a fatality accident.
I was able to get so many good pictures (well, besides me owning a craptastic camera that takes craptastic pictures) of it because I have to drive into that driveway to deliver a paper. I also have to go up and back down the main paved road.
I don't know if you can see but the car is still smoldering in the pictures. It's going to probably be a bit until it's cool enough to be towed.
I'm fairly certain this isn't a tC we know as none of ya'll live near me.
It just dawned on me, I totally could of been pulling out of that driveway when the tC crashed because I imagine this happened right around the time I should of been there (I was running very late).
I'm going to guess that they were flying up the road (and couldn't make that corner you see in that last picture. That tC would of hit me right square on my side of the car, that power pole landing on me and me being dead and burnt to a crisp.
It really ____es me off that people will drive their cars like that and put others in danger. I suppose there's a chance in hell that this person wasn't flying up the road and the accident was due to something else but I doubt it.
Sorry, I just weirded myself out thinking about being hit by this person and my 3 boys being motherless.

Whoa. ^ Jenna, don't worry about it. I see where you're coming from! Yeah, SOME people and their tCs. They THINK they're Ferraris and all those other fine cars.

I wonder if that grille's going to be on Ebay anytime soon? :tap:
Seriously though, that is scary to think about. I see all of these hotrodders flyin' around in their cars. What gets them killed (besides being stupid) is that as they're flying around, they're looking around to see who's looking at 'em.
I don't mind if they severely hurt themselves (I wouldn't wish death on any of them) but when they put other people in danger - like the soccer mom on her way back from practice. That tends to get under my skin... :nope:

Glad they were able to walk away from that with some or no injuries. People just need to chill when it comes to drivin' fast, unless it's on a closed course.

You know, my co-worker's brother was handed the bill for the cost of a new power line he toppled about a mile from here. I hope this person is handed the bill for this like he was.
I just went pass it and they're putting up a new pole, new transformer and rehanging the lines. There are about 10-15 PUD workers there (on a Saturday) and I believe when they're done, the phone company will need to come in and fix there little green box thing that I saw that's just trashed. I wonder how much all that costs... somewhere around 3 billion dollars if I had to guess, lol.
They cleaned up all the tC bits... I was gonna see about snagging myself a tC grill, lol.

The pole was probably one of those breakaway ones, holes drilled in the bottom so that it will snap off instead of wrapping the car and driver around it, guy or gal was lucky. Stupid is as stupid does.

I guess it's easy to get carried away when the road is meandering and fun like that one looks. Thank goodness everyone is okay.

My husband asked a Snohomish County Sheriff that came into his work about the accident a bit ago. They don't know who was driving the car... they left the scene.
I don't know how long that'll last. Surely they'll be able to find a PIN number somewhere on that charred car, right?

wow left the scene huh??? nice...hope they got a limp....
as for the phone box.... depending on size... it probably deals with oh.. 100-200 minimum phone lines.... and take about 1-2 days to get fixed... then another 1 week or so goin back out there and fixing some of them again that got missed or done wrong...... insurance will cover the phone box i think... but if they can tag it the driver (if the car wasnt stolen)... then it'll go on the drivers insurance probably..

How sad.
And while I can't find pics or more info, I got stuck in the aftermath of this accident last week caused by a tC. I hope in both cases that these weren't involving people we know.

One person was killed and another critically injured Tuesday after a driver tried to do a U-turn in front of a semi tractor trailer truck on Highway 512 just outside of Puyallup, the Washington State Patrol said.
The driver was killed when he drove his car in front of the semi while trying to reach an emergency turnaround on the opposite side of the highway, State Patrol spokeswoman Brandy Kessler said.
The truck driver hit his brakes but was unable to avoid hitting the car, Kessler said.
“There was nothing he could do,” she said. “He couldn’t stop.”
The accident occurred about 1:15 p.m. near the junction of highways 512 and 167. The accident closed both lanes of Highway 512 for nearly four hours. Troopers rerouted traffic onto the highway shoulder to avoid a complete backup, Kessler said.
Neither the driver nor the three passengers in the car were wearing seat belts, Kessler said.
One passenger was thrown through the car’s sunroof and was in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The others suffered less severe injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
Troopers are still working to identify the man who died, Kessler said.

It looks like the license plate is still in readable condition...the owner of the vehicle should be able to be found. However, it don't mean that the owner of the vehicle was driving it at the time. The tC coulda been registered to someones 'rents while their kid was driving it. Either way I hope they catch the driver.
