Default Cold Air Vs Short Ram

I'm thinking of buying an intake for my xB. I was wondering what are the pros and cons of each one?? And if anyone can tell me what to watch out for because I don't want any check engine light on, or something happening to my car. Thanks in advance!

The gains are pretty much the same. If you live in an area that is prone to lots of rain, or flooding, avoid the CAI.

Short ram is really the way to go. They cost half as much, and perform just as well.

Also, provided you install everything correctly, you shouldn't have any problems with a CEL.

I recommend the Fujita Shorty.

Or you can buy the AEM dyno tested cold air intake, which makes more power then the short hot intake ram does and if you are worried about the rain or floods no need to worry get the AEM Air Bypass Valve for your cold air intake http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=20 and be happy knowing that you have the power as well as not having to worry about the chance of hydro-locking

I would go with cold air intake - avoiding deep puddles for either would be good , dont wanna hydrolock , that would be a nightmare

Thanks for the replies guys. I thinking of going for CAI as well.. . Other than the possiblilites of hydro locking is there actual proof that One is better than the other? if there's a link It would be greatly appreciated. Again thanks guys.

The CAI has more SHOW qualities but you pay for it. The short ram get the job done for way less but is hidden. Choose wisely.
