The Race To Be Unique
The 1st gen XB has been out for a while now, and many of us have done some of any and everything to customize it to stand out from the rest. Has anybody out there found it hard or feel like you are in a race to customize your XB and do things different to it before somebody else does. If so have you ever thought about getting a 08 XB to show off new products as they come out before somebody else does.

i hear all of yall, and i want to say that when i bought my XB i wanted to be different than the rest. I kind of messed up when it comes to the color that i picked (polar White). With the things that ive done i wanted people that have XBs like mine to notice and its like nobody does. But after reading the remarks i see thats its not about everybody else all the time its about personal expression. I WAS ACTUALLY CONSIDERING GETTING THE 08 XB. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!

Sure there will be a few that try to make the xBII unique but IMHO they will never reach the level of attention a stock xBI receives on a daily basis.
You gotta have the right look from the start and the xBII just doesn't have it. It's like the old saying... You can polish a turd but in the end you still have a turd.

Some people got nothing better to do than to crack on other people or their stuff. Just think hockey; puck 'em.

Or something like that.

the only mods my box has are 2 sets of hella horns i put behind the grill... i also added a modest 12" sub with amp.... that's it... to say i've spend like $500 on my box over the year and a half i've had her is an overstatement... there is also the other saying - "No matter how good you are, there is always someone better." <- another saying which has kept me from getting into the modding competition with others...
just my thoughts,
- sh00k
My most unique mod cost me about $3. I have a Japanese Auto federation parking sticker in my front window. I know my car will never be a jdm bB, but I have had fun doing things like changing the front grill and adding a bB logo. Hanging a Wakaba in my front window, and the JAF parking sticker. Oh and my Doreamon squeeky toy on my dash.
There are still not a lot of options out there for the xB2--at least not near as many as the xB1. I pick and choose from things I see that I like--and do not worry about what others think.
Yeah, I kind of fell into that compete mindset when I first got it, but after going to a few shows I realized that in order to get to trophy levels, I would no longer be able to use it as a daily driver, and certainly not for it's primary purpose, to be able to take my wife out without having to have her get out of her wheelchair.
Now I still mod, but I do it because it's a hobby, a chance to hone some skills, and to express myself. Oddly enough, my most unique mod was also the cheapest, bamboo flooring on the rear half only cost me 3 hours and $60. Have fun, and remember when you mod to do it because it's what YOU like.

i feel this presure everyday, and its getting harder to come up with new ideas but i still have a few up my sleeve, and if someone has the same mod you just have to out smart them and add to it and make it your own,or make small changes so people may think its the same till they look closer change is good, and i dont care if people like it or not, because i do, and thats all that matters
Bamboo flooring?!?! That's awesome, and creative.
pics please!
I love all the extreme modders (they drive a lot of R&D that trickles down to me), I love the stock daily drivers (collector's items anyone?), I love the iconoclastic "one-off 'cause it pleases me"-mobiles (fight the power!).
I just love the gen 1 xB- in all it's forms and fashions. Like a family, there are ones you love, ones you hate and ones you love to hate. And a couple of freaks that give everyone else an excuse to drink.
Love 'em all!
