View Full Version : Scion Drag race event....
ProfSR 12-23-2003, 02:56 PM Just wanted some imput from my fellow Scion enthusiats regarding the subject of holding a racing event exclusively for our vehicles. This obviously will not be until later months down the road when these vehicles arrive but just wanted to count the roster of some fellow speed junkies such as myself. Come on guys, doesn't the roar of the 1.5 1NZFE screaming down the track in 16 seconds sound appealing? OK, I'm not exactly a sarcasm artist but nonetheless it'll be a good opportunity for everyone to meet each other and have a fun time. Please don't flame me for making such a suggestion. 8)

Jaywade24 12-23-2003, 02:58 PM Just let us know Team waldorf will be there
beathookup 12-23-2003, 03:05 PM DMV Scion's might come out and show some support but I personally wouldnt be racing. I'll be hitting switches from the side line.
Jaywade24 12-23-2003, 03:12 PM I luv that DMV I telling you that will so much better on a shirt than DelawareMarylandVirginia, but arn't we leaving out D.C. I like Metro Scion but that cuts out SOMd(where I am) So Va, and Delaware, what to do ?what to do? what to do?
dinkjs 12-23-2003, 04:34 PM I am sorry but scion's shouldnt be drag racing.....whatcha gonna try for? Mid 16's? its a waste.......I think you should get on a road course and do some racing that way
Docsnuff 12-23-2003, 04:46 PM WooHoo an xB running Budds Creek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sooooo there!!!
There will be a day that it would be worth it to run an xB in the 1/4, but somehow I don't think that day will be soon.
But it would be fun to have a shootout, against our own, to see what the minor mods can do for the car....

I agree with you on the basis that the 1NZFE couldn't generate enough torque to loosen a lugnut. It would strictly be just to give novices to have a little fun with their boxes and have a blast with fellow Scion enthusiats. On road courses, you would need thorough instructions and to some extent safely equipment; at least a helmet. So I just wanted simplicity. Road courses would be great too; just reserved for people that actually turns their sterring wheel.

dinkjs 12-23-2003, 05:11 PM That is more like it...when i get my xb.....it will never been seen at a drag race unless its NHRA championships here in Indianapolis...but then I am just a spectator
vwefelix 12-23-2003, 08:12 PM I don't know about drag racing them, but autocross next year is sure going to be fun!
:D
Take Care,
Dave
DoNuT 12-23-2003, 11:08 PM I will be going up to Infenion Raceway (formerly known as Sears Point) in Sonoma, CA on Thursday January 1st. I am going to race my bone stock 5spd xA just to get a base run and see where it stands. If anyone cares to join me, you can get information here...
www.infineonraceway.com
I will post all the info from my runs at the track when I get back.
Also, my family will be bringing a digital camcorder, so I will try to post the vids of my crazy burnouts and drag racing footage =P
XBBOY 12-23-2003, 11:31 PM I really don't think drag is the way to go for the xb's, these cars are made for cruisin' and just chill'in, But bBist (Steve) and a few of the other members of TSW have taken their cars to road courses and the has handled very well, so if there is gonna be any racing for these cars I think a road track would be the way to go.
