Just curious if anybody adds more oil into there tc because there running a turbo?

Should be a little bit, yeah, but not even a full quart.

fill your car up until the dipstick says full. no further. its bad news if you go further.

 

i fill till it says "full". but i do have to add more from time to time bc it burns out...

 

yep burns a little. keep an eye on it.

 

Most people add like a 1/4 of a quart more I believe.

 

yeah i probly put like ^ said, 1/4 more maybe less even. just make sure u check it frequently, i know i have a small leak to where my pressure sensor for my oil pressure gauge hooks up so i lose oil very slowly but over time it can add up

 

while on the subject, does anybody use those trd high flow oil filters you can buy on trdsparks.com? i was thinking about switching over to those if they really make a difference considering how much more expensive they are over regular toyota oil filters.

Standard filter is just fine. ZPI even uses them on there race cars. I always fill to were it says full, then check once every couple days, as the car will tend to burn a little oil from time to time.

daily driving i try to stay out of boost...
of course there are times when i have to add 1/4 after just one cruise

is everyone using synthetic oil filter?

 

I use Mobile 1 Full Synthetic extended performance 10w-30 with the Toyota oil filter.

 

10w30? im still on 5w30 mobile 1 synthetic with synthetic filter... maybe thats why i burn a lot.. should i switch to thicker oil?

 

I'm no oil expert but that would make sense...
I use 10W 30..always have..always will.

 

10w30 on an FI motor. 5w30 on a factory tc motor. wouldnt go higher then that. and i strongly recommend not filling your car up past the full line, but hey, its your valves.

 

I've NEVER heard of 10W 30 being bad for a N/A car, lol.
5W 30 may be stock, but it's certainly not going to hurt it by putting 10W 30.

never said 10w30 was bad for an NA car. When i put i wouldnt go higher then that i was talking about on an FI motor. I would leave it at 10w30.

 

aww daymit i already filled it up with 5w30 grrr... but thx for the help guys, i really hate removing the daym oil pan and putting the one that zpi give you. I snapped one of the bolts on the pan and i'm missing another one so i'm leaking a lil grrr...
