Default Loved the Xa on vacation

Just got back from vacation. Went from Baltimore to Myrtle beach, SC (around 500 miles) and it only wound up costing $55.00 each way. going down I got 36.3 running about 75 going down and coming back due to traffic and running about 60-65 I got 38. I had one half tankful while down there in stop and go traffic on Ocean Blvd where i got 31 which is still pretty respectable for that type of driving. There was concern at first whether the 3 of us and our luggage for 8 days would fit but with the cover removed our 4 peices of luggage fit without an issue. So our first road trip was a success. B

I went from Fresno, CA to Monterey and back on one tank.

The xA doesn't do too bad going uphill or in the windy areas. My girlfriend and I had a lot of fun.

Default XA on vacation

When we first got married in 1981, we bought a Toyota Starlet, 1981, 1.3 liter 5 spd. Got about 45 mpg on a trip, and we happily traveled the world in it. 25 years,2 kids sort of grown, we are taking the XA to help move my daughter to Fla. for school next month instead of my wifes Lexus. In discussing it , seemed the XA had that nostalgia factor, plus this is our last child to move, and we are back to just the 2 of us.

I drove my xA from Peoria, IL to Beaumont, TX and back, and it was one of the most enjoyable roadtrips I've taken. I averaged well over 30mpg each way while driving at speeds averaging between 75 and 80 over the 1100 miles(each way) trip.

+1 for the xA

I drove to TJ and back in my scion and I still had some gas left. I used to go through a tank and a half in my cobra.
