I saw a post showing two bikes in the back of an XB. I would like to know how you get them in, I have tried.

I have a feeling my 21.5" frame (mountain bike) probably wouldn't fit ... a 15 or 16 or maybe even a 17 I might can see ... but two? ... i guess the xb is surprisingly room inside ...

Hey, i saw a pic of a guy with bikes inside the xB and he had two bikes side by side facing the rear, the front wheels were removed. He had the two fork mounts attached to a two by four and put bungee cords from one side of the car to the other.

you can tell by the angle of the frames, that the back wheels have been removed also,which isnt that difficult with todays quick releasw stuff

I don't remember the size of my bike, but it's pretty big (I'm about 6'). I can fit 2 in the back, but I have to take the seats and front wheels off then and lay the bikes down on the handlebars. Next I wedge the rear wheels on the sides of front seats (near the seatbelts) to stabilize them. I'm still trying to figure out a better/easier/more stable way. It works OK so far :D

I'll offer up what I said in the first thread about the fellow's rack in the xB. I put two bikes in the back, no rack, no taking off wheels. I am about 5 foot 10, so my bike is likely about the size of yours. My wife's bike is a good bit smaller, so I don't know how well this would work for you.

What I do is take off the back seat headrests, lay down the back seats, and lay my bike down in the back. Chain side up, front wheel pointing up and behind the passenger's front seat. I lay my wife's bike on top of mine, same way.

Of course, if you like driving with the front seat backs angled back, this becomes a bit more challenging... Thing is, a lot of folks seem to find laying one bike on top of another unacceptable.
