How much does it honestly cost? This is if you're going to get it installed and tuned. Being that the tC is a daily driver, it is essential to get it tuned correctly for proper gas mileage...

Not counting the cost of the kit itself or gauges, Install COULD be as low as $300. Another couple hundred for gauge install. $100 an hour for tune depending on what manegement you get, and probably 3 hours for tuning.
So a little under a grand.

Just take out a loan for $10,000 and keep any left over money for insurance purposes incase anything were to go wrong. Kit + Install + Gauges + Tune = around 5-9 Thousand depending on what kit you buy, and what tuner you go to

i have a really hard time imagining anyone getting an out of the box kit running with $900.... probably more like 2 grand to be safe. little things WILL pop up, thats life. id just say have an extra 2grand set aside after you buy the kit.

That sounds realistic...

Around 5 grand sounds real. It's not the actual kit that I'm trying to solve but everything after. Tuning...install...etc.

Well I see your in LA like me. The 308whp dezod powered tC is around here too. We both got tuned at chuches automotive testing in Wilminton. 160/hr. It took an hour and a half and he only charged him for an hour. They hooked me up with a re-tune for free. So it ALLLL depends on where you go. Churches is a great tuner btw.

How much have you spent on the turbo kit + tuning + install? And how fast is your car now?

i've probably spent about 5k on everything. I put on 240hp/tq on an auto @ 7psi. guy with this kit hit 250 on a manual tranny tC.

This is just my setup, just so you have something to compare, obviously your not getting a P&P head yet, so take that out:

ZPIracing Scion tC Turbo Kit - Stage 1
[ZPI-1008] $3,999.00

300whp 9-10 psi (150% increase)
MHI/ZPI spec Big 16g
ZPIracing External 38mm Wastegate
Stainless Intercooler piping
ZPIracing Front Mount Intercooler
Oil pan fittings for oil return
Pre tuned Emanage
550cc ZPIracing PnP Injectors
Stainless Steel tig welded Manifold
4 ply silicon couplers

ZPIracing Scion tC Head Studs by ARP
[ZPI-1110] $145.00

ZPIracing Scion tC Stage 1 head package
[ZPI-1001] $550.00

ZPIracing Scion tC Full Exhaust
[ZPI-1006] $499.95

ZPIRacing Scion tC S-Pipe
[ZPI-1002] $200.00

AEM TRU Boost
[ZPI-1186] $289.00

AEM 4 in 1 Oil Pressure Gauge
[30-4401] $205.92

AEM UEGO 6 in 1 Wideband Controller
[ZPI-1087] $289.00

Total:

$6,177.87

Keep in mind that's just for the parts. Factor in labor, tune, and any other things needed like:

Powder Coating
Jet Hot Coating
Pressure Sensor / Black Box ( DEZOD )
Plug & Play Harneses
Spark Plugs
etc.....

There will be alot more things down the road that you will have to maintain, and replace:

Spark plugs, Synthetic oils, Airfilters, Internala, Premium Fuel

Think about everything that will have to be done....
Now, does my $ 10,000 Loan really sound like its still outta the ballpark? haha

Nice, Whocares!
Those are the exact same gauges I have. How do you like the tru boost? Do you have it set to 2 different boost levels? If so, what levels?
