Well I know that a ton of people here on this site have been looking for the interior hatch trim pieces due to them breaking their clips. Well today i got fed up and went to my Scion dealer and told them that the Hatch Trim pieces were not staying up due to broken clips and that they rattle on me. They looked at them, said no problem and ordered me an entire new 4 piece set for free under warranty. Now that great service. They should be here in 2-3 days. My sister heard this and she went up to and they ordered her all new pieces also. So if you want new trim pieces, just break some of your clips and then go complain to your dealer and hopefully they order you new ones like my dealer did. Later.

well im talking about the hatch trim. And you cannot buy these clips. They are molded into the trim and are plastic and look like triangles. Its the 3 tan pieces that go around the rear window and tha black hatch piece. The trim pieces have molded clips that break if not put in correctly. My dealer broke a few of mine off and didnt realize it till i said something.
I need a Part Number because my car isn't under warranty and it's a 2005 Scion tC but. I have been looking everywhere for them didn't know what it was called until now.
Thanks so much they look like this.
The black piece isn't broken just one of the white clips are but I can get that at Advance Auto.
I know this may sound a bit unorthodox but just get some self tapping or dry wall screws and screw them directly into the hatch.
I did it on my previous tC and will be doing it to my current one because the previous owner broke pretty much all the clips. worked great when I did it last time.

I was thinking about doing that but I was lucky enough to find non-broken ones at a pick-n-pull. Every tC I have seen in a junkyard has had broken tabs and this was the first one that had all tabs intact. Those trim pieces can be pricy new from Toyota.

I wanna say its due to the rear garnish breaking on people and them fixing it themselves,
not knowing that the plastic Toyota used on the trim pieces is no wear near as durable as the plastic circular tabs used around the rest of the car.
But yeah a few well placed screws will keeps things in place if you don't want to dish out the money for new trim pieces
