Boxer_Rebellion 07-15-2007, 01:06 PM Wow the Teins are a much more aggresive drop than that...
bb_ist 07-19-2007, 01:18 PM I called Tanabe and they said the springs will be available on september
HiphapaSole 07-19-2007, 02:20 PM SWEET! picking up some tanabes

I'm leaning towards the Teins as well, for now. Aggressive drop, decent price, perhaps too aggressive? 1 year warranty on them. Tanabe has a 3 year. Need to research Eibach, TRD and Hotchkis. Sorta ruling out Goldlines because all I keep seeing is $380 for them, ridiculously high. I bought an entire FK cup kit for $380 for my Jetta, shocks, struts, springs, all matched and meant to work with each other.
I'm going to make myself a table in Excel lol
Hopefully we can put together:
spring rates f/r (or at least identify if linear or progressive)
drop (claimed from mfr and after settling from actual installs) f/r
warranty
price
hopefully also some info on wear to suspension components due to usage
bb_ist 07-19-2007, 04:55 PM The Spring rate for Tanabe DF is 2.4kg/2.7mm and NF is 2.6kg/2.6mm

STech 2 F / 2.9 R

Those are the Randode hybrid ones, he uses two sets of Goldline TC/xB springs to do em, which is why they cost that much. When the official xB2 GoldLines come out they won't drop as low but be under $200 (so I've heard...)

They're certainly being labeled as Goldline by Randy, not some make-shift of his own making.

Either way, I'll keep looking for the info, but definitely leaning towards the Tein STech as long as the stock shocks and struts don't implode with them :P

Lucky.
Did she say what the street price would be?
stick_1NZ 08-01-2007, 06:12 AM I'd like to get a bag kit for the 2gen.
ExcelRevs 08-01-2007, 07:20 AM i would never do bags again...at least not for a daily driver. too much upkeep, not to mention a tow truck would never tow you.

Tanabe_USA 09-11-2007, 06:54 PM If anyone has an 08 XD or knows of anyone that does, please let me know. We need the car for R&D purposes and are compensating participants in the form of parts.
timmer357 09-17-2007, 05:07 AM Tanabe guy...
What is your opinion on a camber kit with your drop. Never lowered a car other than the TRDs currently on my xB2. A lot of people say it is basically required but others argue not necessary. I want to get a set of your springs and sell the TRDs but am just trying to figure out what it is going to cost me.
Bad_bhelle, is your friend interested in setting some of the rest of us up? Not necessarily saying $160, but they are $230 list. Maybe a group buy?

In a perfect world a camber kit is suggested any time you lower the car so that you are able to realign the car within factory specs. Its really up to the owner to make the decision for themselves. Alot of times the investment in a camber kit will save you money in tires over the long run.
