Default I got a new toy!! Check it out!!

So this isn't a "mod" per se, but since I was running low on storage in my car, I figured I'd have to find a solution. This was my solution:

What it is is a Multimedia Drive, which has outputs for Audio, Video, HD, Optical, S-Video and whatnot. It didn't come with a HD, so I also got a 400 GB hard drive to go with it. So the nice thing is I can use it as an external drive in my car, and then take it out to use in my room, or anywhere with a TV

Here are the specs....

Video and Audio Output:
RCA L/R, Coaxial, Optical(5.1ch), RCA Y, Pr, Pb, S-Video, IR-Ext
PC Interface:
USB 2.0 (Backward Compatible to USB 1.1)
Supported Files & Formats:
Video - MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI, DivX® 3.11, 4x, 5x, XviD,
DVD(IFO, VOB), ISO
Audio - AC3, MP2, MP3, DTS pass through, WMA, OGG, M3U
Subtitles - SMI, SRT, SUB
Image - JPEG/JPG
Screen Aspect Ratio:
16:9 / 4:3 Letter Box / Pan Scan
TV System:
NTSC, PAL, or AUTO LCD Display 128 X 64 mm Up Scaling 1920 X
1080i, 1280 X 720p
Hard-Disk Type:
3.5” Internal IDE (PATA)
Power:
External 12V DC adapter
Size:
7x6x2.5 inches.....about the size of a DVD box set

lol

Ok, so it wasn't cheap, but not too expensive. I bought the all in one thingamajigger for $199 and a 400GB hd for $89, and it came out to about $309 after taxes.

I don't have "dock" for it yet. I am trying to figure out where I can put it where it can stay portable still, as well as get good circulation. I think I may have a clip or something mounted on the hump for when I do use it.

lol, which part Don? The thing takes my DVD's which I converted into AVI files, and lets me take them with me without having to carry everything. I can connect it to any tv with RCA jacks. I just have to make sure it does ok in a car environment, but it functions fine as a huge drive which is useful because the carPC is running low on storage.

Interesting...I've been looking for an external hard drive since my hard drive fried recently, loosing all my data.
