a guy in our club got the megan drift spec and it was horrible tryna get that damn silencer out. Megan effs up big time with that thing. i dont know if we did it the hard way or it was just TOO big for that tip but we .....destroeyed that silencer to get it out. i mean we drilled holes to weaken it u's pliers to pull it, drilled more holes to pry it out. drilled more holes to pull it, used the pliers again, and then used all our youthfull man strength to finally pull it out. but the thing STILL ended up bending the tip. oh well... at least the b!4ch came out...

damn that sucks. because i tried pliers and nothing. was going to try wd-40 on it but had none in the house. and thought about trying to pull it off with gloves after i've driven around for a while so that the pipe will be warm and may loosen up some.

well, I'm not sure how the megan silencer is inserted, but I can give you some general silencer experience (slide in type)

what usually works is a heavy gauge coat hanger, cut and bent into a Y with hooks at the ends curved out. the curve in the hook should be small enough to fit all the way inside the silencer, and aggressive enough so that they will not unbend when you pull out. squeeze the Y together so that the hooks cross over, and insert the hanger into the pipe. once the hooks pass the end of the silencer, the shape of the Y should pop them out, and hook them around the silencer. pull.

hopefully that works for you.

if not, you're on the right track with getting it hot. everything expands some when it's heated. the thing is, that the silencer will expand too. if you were to use something to cool the silencer while the main pipe is still hot, you may get more play. canned air, when held upside down, will eject a very cold liquid, and you may try that.

try using vice grips. they work better than ur standard pliers. just wrap a lil cloth around where ur gonna clamp it down at so the silencer doesn't get messed up.

the combination of the clothes hangers and the pliers worked and all i can say is WOW!!!!!! its a lot louder and nicer sounding as well as the car seems to drive a lot better. thanks for all of the help.

we got the hangers to pull it to where it came out some, and put another set in the holes where the bolts were and pulled the first part of it out, then had to get 2 more hangers in there for the last part. then it finally came out. definately took some time and muscle.
