Finally I drove the xA today, and with the Yoko tires the ride is smooth. Road noise is minimal IMO, but one thing I did notice is the wind noise. Maybe just a windy day here, but it almost sounds like the windows aren't closed all the way, which isn't the case. I wonder if anyone feels the same way as I do? My wife asked about it too this morning.
Thanks!

I think it is common in a car like the xA. Even a good deal of Echo drivers complain about the wind noise. Its because there is not much in the department of sound deadning.

Well if it's b/c of the door panel, I think insulation can be added, but it almost sounds like it's coming from the top/edge of the doors...which I have no idea about how to fix it :(

Most cars with moon/sun roofs have that excess wind noise. That's why some owners slam a wind deflector. Not sue if that will help. At least you dont drive an xB. Windnoise on the xB however is similar to a loaner I had, 2004 Camry with Moonroof. :?
You are running on Yokos? Is this the stock 15" steel tires or did you upgrade? I thought they only come with Goodyears.

Well factory upgrade since it's the RS 1.0...it DOES have the moonroof though. Hmmm, maybe that's the answer. I don't think my wife wants a wind deflector; that defeats the cute looks she's craving for all along.

I may not drive an xA, but in my tC I sometimes notice excessive amounts of wind noise which seem to be coming from the doors, not the roof. I've only noticed this in city driving when I don't have the radio blasting (as I usually do). It's kind of odd, though because the second day I had the car, I went on a 3-hour interstate drive to Florida and didn't notice any noise at all.

Maybe it was a windy day also for you? Seriously, I tried open and close the windows and found the noises were coming from the door edges/trims rather than the inside panels.

The MR2 spyder sounds the same way. Its the way these engines are built. Personally that is what attracted me to this car so much was the engine. They run at high RPM's and sound great. Don't worry there is nothing wrong with your car. Its all part of the beauty of it.

You meant the wind noise are due to the engine? I don't think that is it. Sure I heard engine noise alright, and I do love engine/exhaust sound...well, except for those Honda with a huge exhaust...that I cannot stand.
