hey scionaraxb

your xB looks good with the 1.25" drop on Spy's! i think it looks better than the TRD drop myself....

i like the look and think i will go with the Spy's...... i plan on getting 215/45/17's next time so i think with the 1.25" drop it would fit those tires easily too....

Your xB looks really sweet! I'm pretty much sold on a Spy 1.25" drop. I was going to go with Goldlines but I'd rather not do a 2" drop. BTW, did you leave the stock shocks on there or change them out as well? Thanks.

when you say better ride, what do you mean?

thanks

It rides BETTER then stock springs. It takes the edge off bumps and is MUCH smoother then stock. To me, the spy springs with one person in the car rides as smooth as when I had 4 people in the car with stock springs. Does that make any sense?

yeah it makes sense....

the way i see it, the 1.25" drop does not compress the struts as much as a 2" drop....so it would not be quite as bouncy as the 2" drop [do you have any thoughts on this eric?]

and the fact that they are compressed a little would give it the same feeling as if you had a load in the xB....

did you transfer the covering from the original springs over to the Spy's? i hear some people having trouble with noise [binding?] with some springs....

scionaraxb

I read that too...only AFTER I'd put my springs in.....no noise at all.....and I've had 4 people in it for a 100 mile trip. I do have the original covers in my toolbox....I took them off the stock springs before I threw them away.

I'm telling ya....buy the Spy's! You won't redret it..and its simple to install yourself.

nice drop... scionara

but for me, i personally like the 2" drop... not to mention it rides smoother too. clearance is not a problem... i never had to angle over any speed bumps. i even run it through the local car wash without a problem.

i run 215/45/17 on mine...no rubbing at all either. it's an awesome combo. but, i'm eagerly looking into getting bigger rims... thinking of going 225/35/18... i'll sacrifice abit of ride comfort for looks..haha.

here's a pix of my ride from the Pomona Showoff last month... and yes, i have nothing but praise for GoldLines...they are affordable and quality is unsurpassed.

man, every time i see your xB BlueBox i swear i gotta go right now and get my Goldline's! hearing you say the 215/45/17's do not rub does it for me, as i plan to go from the 215/40/17's i have now to 215/45/17's next time and that looks really Sweet!

what i want to know, are you saying 2" Goldline's ride better than Spy 1.25" springs? i would have thought the shorter drop would be better as far as ride goes....

BlueBox

honestly, i don't know how a 1.25" spy rides... i haven't been in one.

but for a 2" drop with Goldline... i must say it's a nice ride. way better than stock in my opinion...and it gets better with miles...

i have about 7,000 miles on my xB with the Goldlines...and it's performing even better than before.
