Default WHP without FMIC?

OK, I'll ask this since my friend's FMIC from his newly bought turbo CRX got stolen when he parked at a rich peoples place in NWLV and had it towed to his house. It happened last night... (the thieves should have stole the car instead)

So I'm thinking about getting a Stage1 but I don't want the FMIC being seen. Is it possible to simply put a pipe and NX cooler instead of the FMIC and lower the boost to 6-7PSI and still run it safely without having the turbocharger burst?

Is this a good idea for buying a level 1 300WHP+ turbo kit or should I settle for a stage 0 ZPI since I wouldn't get the 300WHP without the FMIC?

Thanks!

get a black fmic and keep the lower grill on the car. this way it's harder for them to see it. i, personally, wouldnt run more than 7psi without an intercooler.

edit: or what brett said ^

Its not like people steal an intercooler everyday. This is like taking off your rims and putting steelies on so no one steels you rims.
Quit worrying and just do it already.

You live in Vegas...You NEED an intercooler.
The answer is......get the supercharger!

paint the intercooler black, get black couplings, and keep your lower grille on, that way your intercooler will hardly be visible, and will only be visible if you are looking for it.

one incidence shouldnt scare you.

first off like everyone said its a TC...2nd you can do all you want paint it black make it invisible idc but your going to be driving around and your going to be boosting people will hear they will kno...there not going to steel it off of a tc. someones walker is more likely to get stolen...especially where you live you should have an intercooler...paint it black leave the grill on and atleast it wont be visible so all you have to worry about its people hearing it but if even your gauges are hidden behind where the radio is and do a relocate on the radio thats an option...if it was me i wouldnt worry...id say go trd but idn they just seems so unreliable as a product, i dont have one so im not knockin it i just feel like it is and what people say...

Get a stage 0 and water injection. Water injection does basically the same thing as an intercooler.

The turbo and FMIC have no relation other than the air that goes through them.

air to water setups are greatly more efficient than air to air.

I think I have a different solution than everyone else here. Just buy this: BOV and drive around with it for a couple months, making sure to race everyone in town! Then, when they know your car is junk, put the stage 1 kit on, and enjoy. Guaranteed no one will mess with it.
