In regards to putting 19s on the tC, I am concerned about little sidewall height due to the size of the rim. On this site I found that I can either use 215/35/19, 225/35/19, or 235/35/19; however I am a bit confused on these figures. Ive read that using a tire 3% larger than stock could cause brake failure. Obviously I dont want that,...so my question is a want 19s (19x8) and as much tire "protection" from pot holes as possible, but also dont want any rubbing issues. Also I dont plan on lowering it from stock height. Any suggestions?

i'd go with as much tire as possible on the sidewall...and i'm assuming you got that info about 3% from your dealer or someone like that...i've never heard of such a thing..you could go the same size as stock but chrome and they would weight more than a little bigger but lighter material thought that might help a little...and you can always go to tirerack.com to compare your tire seze to stock... good luck

actually I saw that on 1010tires.com. It was saying not to go over 3% of the stock size (in diameter i think)or it could cause break failure. I wanna stay as close to that as I can but want some decent sidewall as well.

I had 19x8 with 40mm at stock suspension with 235/35/19 nitto 555's and has no issues with rubbing or whatnot. You could probably do 235/40-45/19 and give more sidewall. I would go any lower than 225 on width though, considering ride comfort.
Currently i am on h-tech springs with my 19x8 40mm and 235/35/19 and the only issue i have is bottoming out on large bumps in the front only.

So going 225 would make the tires too wide? I was concerned with 215 as Ive heard that it would be stretching the tire. 215/(35, 40, or 45) on 19 x 8 rim would be okay as far as rubbings concerned and would also be a good width as well?
I will be buying them in the next few weeks so I'd like to be prepared.

no 225 refers to the tread width and going 215 would be like strapping rubber bands around the rims because the tread would be streched. 225 would possibly work, but imo 235 is the best.

Thanks...my apology, I misread your message. I will prob go with 235/35/19 then. Also since you are using same size as me, what offset did you go with? and how do they sit on the ride. flush? stick out? or tucked?

i have 40 offset and they sit in a little but look great imo but if i went 45 theyd be flush. The issue with that though is i'd have to roll my fenders to not rub all the time.

an offset of 45 would make them sit in more, you mean an offset of 35 to make them flush.

yeah I def dont wanna have to roll the fenders, so I guess Ill need to go also with 40 offset. Do you have any pics of yours, so I can compare to what mine would look like...and again THANKS FOR THE HELP!
