So a couple of us today at the show got approached by a lady who was seeing if we would be interested in taking our cars out to the track to race them against other cars. It is a bracket race (that's all I really got from what she told me).
Here is the web site for more information, so I thought I see who would be interested to go out and do this and make a day out of it. Maybe even put a little dough down for fun....
Here's the site just for people who are interested

P.S. I won't be racing my box, sorry ha ha

I strongly encourage everyone to try it if you get the chance. It was some of the most fun i've ever had in my xB. Bracket racing will handicap the cars so that you DO have a chance against other vehicles. You have a "dial-in" speed, the speed you think you will run the track. When I went, I was dialed in at 17.9, should've been 18. The first car I went up against was an Evo, dialed in at 13.4. So I got a 4.5 second headstart, literally. The winner is based on how close you come to your dial-in, without going under and how fast your reaction time was. I beat the Evo cuz he went too fast, less than 13.4, what they call a break-out. My second race was against an Acura dialed in at 15. He was closer to his time, but my reaction time made up the difference. The third race was against a 65 Mustang at 14.79. I beat his time by about a third of a second and our Reaction times were within 4/100ths. I then had to race a girl driving a 72 Nova with a 12.2 dial-in. This was for 3rd place, winner goes to the finals. I got antsy and jumped the start at -0.021. She jumped early with an -0.011 but I did it first, plus she nailed her run with a 12.219. She got beat in the final round by a GMC pickup, nothing special.
Anyone can have a chance with bracket racing. I took 3rd place out of a dozen or more cars and I was the slowest thing on the track. Even the Prius was beating me.
Here's the timeslips if anyone's interested. You get the white copy if you win, yellow if you lose. The looks on the other drivers faces when my little Box would come back around to line up again was priceless. I got 18 runs in, they had to finally chase me away...

The most important thing in Bracket Racing is consistency. Out of my 18 runs, I think 14 of them were within 3/10 of a second of each other.
I'll say it was kinda depressing when first Stylis and then every other car there was beating me. But when the real racing started and I got a headstart running for the finish line, I can't describe how huge the adrenalin rush was! Plus, it's another chapter in the versatility of my xB.

I think we should do it. I am kind of cerious what a tc can do.
it would be a good befor mods and then next year do it again and see if your car has gotten faster with all the new mods. Or slower.
