How much performance do you gain from getting new rotors? Is it worth the $200-$300 + install? Or should I just upgrade my brake pads if I want better braking ability?

Upgraded rotors are to adress fade when under a lot of heavy braking, like on a road course. The stock brakes have all the clamping force needed for the car, so the limit is the tires. You will get a different feel from the brakes as well on a bbk (but that is not really what you are asking.. you are asking about rotors alone), but you still will find that you dont improve actual stopping a lot. So I guess in short, if you are going to hit the road courses, then you may see the benefit from them, but on the street or autox course probably not. There is the look factor to slotted rotors, which some buy them for.

Okay so if I want to see real gains I should just get brake pads. I'm not racing what so ever

I went with Axxis Deluxe Plus pads on mine. A nice amount of bite and not a lot of dust, so they are still nice for a street pad.
