We have the Spy 2.1" with 18" wheels and 35 series Perelli's on both our Xa and our Xb. I drove both last winter and had no problems, the xb with traction control and VSC performed amazingly well. I even took the Xb out one night when we got @6" just to play, fully expecting to get stuck but it just soldiered on through. We have around 13000 on our b and 7000 miles on our a and have no problems to report from our mods.

I didn't have a problem last winter here in NY 8) But I'm glad I'll have AWD for this winter

Ok thanks I'm still figuring out what suspension setup to get. Maybe the Tanabe Sustec Pro S-0C Type II kit are okay even though they're pricey. If I get this job at Bobcat I might be able to affort it. It would be my first mod.

If you're looking at coilovers, I believe you can adjust them so they'll ride at normal height for the winter.
