I found a digital pressure gauge and it has a sending unit, but I do not know where I can hook up the sending unit.

View Full Version : Where do I hook up a Fuel Sender for a Fuel Pressure gauge SickleCell 07-29-2007, 03:31 PM I found a digital pressure gauge and it has a sending unit, but I do not know where I can hook up the sending unit. Pics would help most! ippskidder 02-22-2008, 03:03 PM Someone help us, LMAO. SickleCell 02-22-2008, 03:08 PM Tap the fuel rail. I ran a return style line into a wet kit and attached the gauge to a gauge adapter. Problem solved. ippskidder 02-22-2008, 03:19 PM Tap the fuel rail. I ran a return style line into a wet kit and attached the gauge to a gauge adapter. Problem solved. Right now I have a stock fuel. Where exactly would I tap it? or would I have to get something welded onto the fuel rail? I'm a little lost =( and what exactly is a gauge adapter? SickleCell 02-22-2008, 08:13 PM Tap the other end of it. Since you aren't on spray or anything, you can have it setup where the fuel sender gauge can screw in where you tapped it. I recommend having someone that knows what they are doing to do it for you. ippskidder 02-22-2008, 08:19 PM Good recommendation, lol. Hmmm... I wonder how much it would cost to get a return fuel system. So i'm thinking a fuel rail, upgraded lines, walbro fuel pump. SickleCell 02-23-2008, 12:25 AM Do you feel that you need it? Scoobasteve4132 02-24-2008, 05:27 AM watching for info on return set up! ippskidder 02-24-2008, 06:08 PM Do you feel that you need it? I'll be sleeving my engine soon. So I know i'll have to upgrade the fuel system. ^^ deathbyc4 02-24-2008, 11:55 PM if you're upgrading the fuel system, then set it up to return fuel back to the tank so that you can get an aeromotive regulator (which then you will have to block off the regulator in the tank) and screw in the sender into the the new regulator. the expensive way to do it but would be the best if you are getting bigger injectors later. or find a t connector with an 1/8th NPT female to two barb fittings and stick it between the fuel line and the fuel rail where the line is rubber. SickleCell 02-25-2008, 12:09 AM If you are doing a fuel system upgrade... tapping the rail and hooking up a fuel pressure sensor is going to be the easy part of that setup lol. deathbyc4 02-25-2008, 05:49 AM http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/746566/10002/-1/10019 just get one of these that will fit the fuel line. snip, clip, screw, done. SickleCell 02-25-2008, 10:23 AM you want to be careful with that. Most of the fuel line in our car runs through metal and is covered in hose. By snipping any part of the line, you won't be able to return it back to stock. If you get a bad seal, you may end up losing fuel pressure. Fuel leak would also suck. If none of that bothers you, go for it! lol. deathbyc4 02-25-2008, 10:49 PM that's up to the user. i have a return setup :P xezerax 02-26-2008, 02:17 AM http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/746566/10002/-1/10019 just get one of these that will fit the fuel line. snip, clip, screw, done. how long have you been running this setup? no leaks or problems? soros151 02-27-2008, 02:28 AM http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/746566/10002/-1/10019 just get one of these that will fit the fuel line. snip, clip, screw, done. how long have you been running this setup? no leaks or problems? Looks like a good option to me. How about the fuel filter of the tC? Run a line long enough for the gauge to be visible,, but short enough not to drop the pressure. ippskidder 02-27-2008, 04:58 AM http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/746566/10002/-1/10019 just get one of these that will fit the fuel line. snip, clip, screw, done. Without tapping the fuel rail. Is there a place where the fuel line is just rubber, and doesn't have metal piping on the inside? so I can use this barb fitting, and finally using my fuel pressure gauge, lol. |
