Where is the best place with reasonable prices to pick up the JDM parts for our cars? I can't seem to find any and Yahoo auctions/ Ebay is really shady, especially Ebay. So i guess where do you get your JDM parts from and what is the service you had with them?

www.carsonscion.com seems to have a good selection of JDM parts. Most of the site sponsors also have various JDM parts available as well.

Otherwise, if you know exactly what you want, just post a WTB in the personal sales section. There are some people here who are stationed in Japan and might be able to help you out if they're willing. And if it's anything out of the ordinary, you might want to include a picture of what you want. :D And for us to see what you're up to also hehe.

www.tl-factory.com has a decent selection, I don't know about shipping times/customer service from them though.

Neneago can get anything from japan for you because he lives there. PM him.

Uhm, www.cabeperformance.com has a limited selection but good prices.

So are the TYC taillights the JDM tails? I am confused on the Taillights and Grill's. The TYC tails are an option here in the US, but they are standard on the bB correct? Also what is the diffrence between the speed grill and the regular grill

really i am looking for Tails, Emblems (which are cheap enough as is), Headlights (i am confused on thisas well as the tails), and any other exterior parts that are drastically diffrent from the US version

The tail lights are the same as the USDM model, the headlights have diffusers in them, and you know that the emblems are different. Other than that, the bB has an A pillar antenna, a slightly different front bumper, used to have the license plate in the rear bumper as opposed to on the hatch, no spare tire in the trunk, bench seating in front with an armrest, a slightly different dash, a column shifter (no 5 speed), different door panels, different alloy wheels, and of course right hand drive.

Thanx for those links, they helped out alot.

Actually the new bB has the same headlights as ours, but now they have an HID option. ;)

thanks for all the help with this one guys. Is anyone out there selling the OEM HID kit? That is one thing i wanted for my scion was an HID kit. This thread is really helpful with all the links.

I guess my first mod, will be new emblems, and then my Rota Grids after the winter here.

Are they factory or aftermarket? What years were they found? I may have someone who can get these. I'll contact him and let you know. I too am interested in these.

its OEM. They're a regular option (might be STANDARD.. not sure) on Japanese market xB's -- so it's all direct plug in.

you need the 2 mirrors, the wiring harness, the relay and the dash switch panel which has the three buttons - 1 for fold-in/fold-out, 1 for L/R mirror selector and 1 for toggling mirrors up/down/side/side. - looks just like the USDM switch, but with an extra button for the folding feature

I found a placeclose tomy house that has broken down cars. You go in there and just take the parts off. Currently they dont have any bB's in there. They do get them the guy told me. I'll keep an eye open for those.

there is one small detail about those OEM folding mirrors. You have to switch the mirrors from your car to the new JDM ones. Remember that the JDM mirror isconcave on the left side versus our right mirror. I have a friend the swapped his civic mirrors and forgot about the difference. HE said it's really hard to make lane changes now. that the mirrors are backwards. Same goes for the headlites. THose are also angled the worng way for righthand drive.

Is there really such a thing as "reasonably priced" JDM goodies? :?
As far as getting JDM stuff w/o going through ebay or other auction sites, pm *memoryfab (http://www.scionlife.com/forums/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=4815), he says he can get anything that is in the bB bible.

yea, when i was back into Hondas, JDM goodies were priced nicely, 100 bucks for a set of taillights, 100 bucks for a cluster, climate control's etc.....

I am just used to the Honda prices and now i come to the Toyota side and i see everything costing an arm and a leg, and like 99% of the stuff is on E-bay, which i don't trust most e-bay sellers in car parts.

What about a set of Honda power folding mirrors, and taking the motor out of it and adapting it to fit? Would that possibly work? If so i know of a set of Power Folding mirrors for sale

Also from the JDM bB to the xB, there seems to be a good deal of different things. The basic layout stays the same, but like the front seats are different, all bB's are auto with the shifter on the column etc..

i see. so converting a xB to a bB would be quite costly i'm assuming

The most difficult part would be the interior. You'd have to get the bench seats, column shifter, and RHD hooked up, not to mention getting the center console in. After you did that, you'd have to take the spare tire out and replace the door panels and floor mats.

true... but the Toyota bB, the car I need the parts from has been out for years - the folding mirror option is almost universal on japanese market cars -- almost every single car has them there (or at the least, it's an option on them). eBay is crawling with JDM mirror conversions - some of them off near 10-year old cars. Just none for an xB.

What about a set of Honda power folding mirrors, and taking the motor out of it and adapting it to fit? Would that possibly work? If so i know of a set of Power Folding mirrors for sale

That was the first thing that mind. I can get a set CHEAP on eBay off darn near any Honda - but, that doesn't get me the Toyota factory dash switch - which is a requirement for me, I don't want any rigged up looking switches - must look stock.

I pm'd memoryfab for these folding mirrors awhile back, he said he needed ten orders to get them from his supplier.
I asked him for the price on ten (sets), and he never got back to me. ( i would have bought all ten, then sold the others somehow.)

well what you could do is find a salvaged bB and get someone just to pull the switch, and fab up something with the Honda motors etc.

Power folding mirrors are awesome, my friend has some on his ITR.
