Default weird sound, new xb

hey y'all,

i need advice. my xb (less than one year old, fewer than 8,000 miles) is making a weird sound.

its a whirring/zinging sound, coming from under the hood. it only makes the sound when i push on the accelerator, at low speeds (15-30 mph). the sound stays for longer than it takes to warm up the car, but it usually goes away in 5 minutes.

any suggestions? anything i can check for myself? should i see the scion dealer?

thanks.

i think thats normal for all MT cars. But if its an automatic, then you need to check on it.

Just keep an eye on it. As long as it keeps going away I wouldn't worry about it. Why risk a dealer visit for nothing. You can always take it in if you have to.
