Default ATTN ALL S/C Owners. ????? bout the TRD Supercharger Filter

ok so i went to go install my new bosch 110 bypass valve and i took off the top part of the intake box along with the carbon filter and the air filter. i thought that the supercharger was suppose to come with a re-useable TRD air filter (the one that similar to a K&N drop in filter) but it was just a normal paper one. did i get ripped off or did everyone else get the same thing? if its the one im suppose to get i'm fine with it but if i'm suppose to get the TRD one, the dealership is gonna get an ear-full from me. please chime in all s/c owners!

man i feel like we're getting shafted on the s/c now. first i had to upgrade to the bosch 110 bypass valve to get the claimed figures and now no TRD filter?

yea, it sucks. i think a trd filter was advertised when it was first released but everyone got a paper filter. just get the trd one from sparks or something. i think mine was 30-60 bucks. dont remember but it was worth it.

which k&n will fit the new bottom portion? is it the one for the v-6 camry? i had one in the old air box but its too small to fit the new box. if anyone has a k&n or the trd filter please post which vehicle it was for or better yet a part # would be even better.

I plan on getting the S/C auto installed on thursday. If you put on an aftermarket intake does that mean it must get tuned again? I thought the S/C install will replace the filter.

yea it comes with a new bottom portionto the air box, a paper filter and another piece containing the charcoal filter. if u put a intake with a open air filter its gonna lean the car out too much according to others here. thats y i haven't done it to mine cuz im scared that its gonna mess my motor up. im thinking of getting an a/f ratio meter then doing that modified intake thing to mine. i already have all the pieces. just need to actually do it.

And you would also need soem sort of fuel management right? From what i understand, the ECU reflash isn't alterable without extra management system??

If it came with the TRD Filter, it would only mean a higher cost. It was never advertised as coming with it... but a lot of people assumed it does.

yea i guess i did just assume that it would come with one. if a k&n only cost bout $50 i don't see how much more a TRD one would cost. even at the new lower price i think it should still come with one.

The first pics of the what comes in the supercharger kit has an air filter with a red surround that looks just like the TRD one. Too bad it never made it.
