i've been going to Miramar Speed Circuit since the day it opened and a revelation happened while driving around the track on Sunday and seeing a person take off their Scion hat to put on a helmet. why not have an owners event at the speed circuit. we will have 100+ parking spaces available so we can still have a meet because i will close off the track and facilities just for the event. we will have access to the parking, lobby, game room, viewing areas, party rooms. I'll try to have it where you will have a Mini Grand Prix with practice/qualifications, semi finals and finals run just like a real race F1 race. you will get to run 10-12 minutes per and we will have 30-40 minute break between races which you will want because if you've never done karting at miramar after 10 minutes your arms and shoulders will start to stiffen up. it will give you the chance to hang around, talk, eat, drink with your fellow scion owners in a different atmosphere. after the final run the winning drivers in each bracket will run a championship race for the trophy and grand prize.

what i do need from the owners! the most important who wants to come because in order for me to close the facility just for us i need 100+ drivers. i would certainly love to have 100+ owners and just have owners drive but i'm not sure if that's possible. please do not bring more than one guest because after all this is an owners event. in fact i won't ask for guests until i get the final roll call.

This would be awesome but 100+ owners is asking a lot, at least from what I've seen from the handful of San Diego events I've been to. But I'm down seeing as how either date is on a Sunday

 

we got one so far 99 more to go....

to rent the track out for 3 hours we need 100+ drivers. the LA guys if they want to come down to SD for three hours are more than welcome.

I think I'd go if it was in Sept.. Aug. is busy for me! And I thought it was less than 100 people to get the track closed.. Socal-tC-Club did it once with way less than that.. Maybe you could ask them how they did it..?

it wouldn't be much of an event if we were there for 1hr and left.

i guess its possible we can do it for two hours intsead of three and have less people show up but it doesn't look like we even have enough people show up for a one hour event.

we need people to say i'll be going and show up. we don't want to close the facility and have 10 people show up.

I will talk to my Scion Evolution San Diego guys this weekend we could probably have 20-25 owners there
especially if its a scion owners freebee lol
and if they all bring just 1 guest that would be 40-50 people

 

oh ya and sept 9th would be sick because thats the day after our 3 yr ann party so there will be out of town scion owners here in town nice ......

i need a a true head count before i close the facility for owners. ideally i'd like to close the facility for three hours and i certainly wouldn't want to do it for one and that's why we need at least 100+ people to show. it is an owners event so i'd like owners to get the races but if we can get 60-70 owners plus 30-40 guest would be okay to close for two-three hours.

if you got friends with scions pay it forward. the cutoff date for Sept 9th is Aug 17th. so we need a minimum of 50 owners to close the track for 2hrs and if we get more i'll close it off for 3hrs.
