Default Crazy gauges - Help!

Every time I start the car the gauges go crazy, they go till the very end and back again. Then they work properly. Any idea what could be causing this problem? Is there a troubleshooting part on the Repair Manual? Where can I find it? BTW its a 2005 tC Auto.

Any info highly appreciated.

It's normal. But you can turn it off if you really want to:

its suppossed to happen, its called a diagnostic sweep. Most of the expensive cars have this feature.

in the tC maybe its for show, maybe its not, who knows.

Its just a coveted lil sportscar-esque feature!

The tC's all do that, you can stop the sweep like the 2nd poster linked to but I've surprised some people with that and they think it's neat.
