Default alternater voltage ?

i have en 06 xb with just over 7,000 miles. my battery died saturday. i was doing alot of work on the inside and i had the lights and raideo on so i thaught it was normal.

i jumped it and "tried" to go around the block. as soon as i would get over 2500 on the tach all the light went crazy and it started bucking. dude i was freekin!!
i recheck every thing twice and coldn't find anything wrong so i took the battery out of my other car and stuck it in the xb. then everything was fine. but my only problem now is the alternator is only crankin 13.7 - 13.9 volts with eveything turned off. if i rev the motor i can get it to 14.01 volts.

ive never checked the charging system on this car befor (never had to) but my other car is crankin 14.2 volts at idel. to me 13.7 is too low. im going to take it to the dealer when i have time. i just wanted your opinion.
