what do the balance shafts do? they must be there for a reason.

yea seroiusly, how did you go about removing them. what the balance shaft does is prevent engine vibrations correct? I mean if we dont need them inthe tC get them the he11 out is what i say, 30 hp is famazing, and asked eralier wat do u see in the longrun?

NO NO NO. Removing balance shafts does not produce 30 whp. Perhaps the OP will clarify for you guys.

nice... and it's not 30hp, its actually from 166 to 172. Thats 6whp more. NICE!

finally... someone brave enough to remove the bs on a tc... but question for you though... ive owned a spec v before and i know that car had a single bs, and there was a kit for it to minimize the slush of the oil... its like a baffle plate... well... my question is... what did you use to do this? did you just remove it without any kind of baffle? also, did you add 1 qt of oil instead of the usual 5 qts?

 

i imagine it would be about a quart of oil, the whole unit is about that size anyways

 

With our shafts removed and our oil cooler setup, our capacity is now 6 qts.

 

Care to make a video of how the revs move now?

 

i would imagine that this would happen... specv guys had to add 1 qt of oil as well... but what did you replace it with in its place? did you just cut the bolt and left the balancer intact?

 

the labelling of the dynos is a little misleading

it just says stock vs now w/obs

but anyways, does anyone care to elaborate on the removal, etc.
