Ok so I go buy the right paint for the engine cover...I buy adhesion promoter and I'm ready to paint everything...

I pop off the fuse covers, get 3 little bolts off the engine cover... but the damn 4th one wont come off!

It is the bottom right one and it is stuck on good and I'm afraid I'm about to strip the piece. My question to you guys... is there a special tool to get this one off?! :(

It is giving me a lot of problems and is making me quite mad. Did anyone else expierence this? Please someone help me on this. What did you use to get it off?

Ok i know your prob....
Get some wd40 and spray the ____ out od it. Make sure you dont spray the actuall top of the nut just the threaded part. Hopefully that will help
If you do strip it then just get a dremel and cut a gash in the top if the bolt, so you can use a flat headed screwdriver on it.

Hope this helps

They shouldn't be that hard to take off. It should just be a standard 10mm socket, and it should come right off. I probably wouldn't force it or Dremel it though because even though you paint the cover, a stripped nut is going to stick out like a sore thumb. :( But anyway sounds cool, can't wait to see it finished. :D

edit: Sorry, didn't realize I didn't finish my post the way I meant.

Mine were way tight too... I would just use some type of penetrating oil or WD40 like xBman said. Spray it, let it sit for 30 minutes and then try it. If still won't budge, spray it again and wait longer. If you have a heat gun, try putting some heat on the nut to get it to expand and suck in some penetrating lube. Let us know how it goes.

ok i loaded it w/ WD-40 and it was still pretty stuck. I tried a 10mm in the rachet but still wouldnt budge. i was scared of the dremel idea and it was a last resort. i ended up breaking off the end of the nut :( and grabbin some channel locks and rippin on it. by then the nut was silver cuz i stripped all the black paint off but I finally got it. I just resprayed it flat black and it looks fine though.
i got the cover off and am finishing spraying the pieces right now. thanks for all your guys' help. ill try to have pictures tomm. :)

I had this same problem yesterday, I'm going to do the PB blaster and try a smaller socket (9mm?) as I took the edges pretty well.

maybe there's some locktight on it.. if so it just needs to be heated up first.

DON'T TRY HEAT THE FREAKIN COVER IS PLASTIC!!!! Just use a new 10mm socket on a 3/8s drive ratchet it should "SNAP" loose like all 4 of mine did but the key is a new (tight fitting) socket GOOD LUCK
