I currently make a set of non slip pads for the first and second generation xB. Here's a link to what xB owners are saying saying about the pads.

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112245

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=176401

Checking to see if xD owner would be interested in a set. Took a few pics where I think pads are needed. Here is what I came up with so far.

1 pad for the dash bin left of the steering wheel
1 pad for the dash tray below the steering wheel
1 pad for the upper glove box
1 pad for the lower glove box
1 pad for the dash cupholder
1 pad for the forward console tray
2 pads for the console cupholders
1 pad for the console bin next to the parking brake
1 pad for the console rear cupholder
2 pads for the front door lower bins
2 pads for the rear door cupholder

Any input would be greatly appreciated. If interested, please post to this thread.

You're quick, Wilson! Most of the folks here haven't even SEEN an xD yet. :P

(I just got a chance to throughly go over a dealer's xD this past weekend, and I'm impressed with it. Nicely put together.)

Anyway, when folks finally do start getting xDs I'm sure they will want your non-slip pads for all those tiny cubbyholes. I know all the xB folks that have 'em will be recommending them if the new owners ask.

If someone took my pads away, I'd be VERY upset.

I was actually thinking about picking up a piece of black felt for the cubbyhole next to the steering wheel and upper glovebox part, but won't be against looking into them pads, either.

pads???? I feel akward.....your not gonna make me go to the store are you....darn it......oh wait.....just a dream.....whew!!!

What are these pads in reference my xD came with little foam pieces already for all the holes except the glove boxes and under the steering wheel.

Wilson's pads are quite different from little felt pads - they are DEFINITELY non-skid. Things stay where they are put, no worry.

I haven't seen the "little foam pieces" you mention, bbcbx2, the only xDs I've been in were, uh, 'naked.'

Those look really good. Any way you can make door handle pads too? I always throw change or my cell phone in the doors...and they rattle and stuff.

I will include a set of door handle bin pads for free if you order direct. Just send me a PM if interested.

The front door handle bins already have an OEM felt pad. I replaced it with my non slip pad.

For some reason, Scion did not make a pad for the rear door handle bin. My pad fits perfectly and covers the screw head

I got my set in the mail a couple of days ago, but I have not had a chance to put them in yet. The set looks great, and the way they are labeled is going to make install a no-brainer.

I like the material too, very nonslip-like. :)

I just recently purchased the non-slip pads from pilot pads on ebay, and they work so well!!!!

They're like the material found on the bottom of the mouse pad, so they do their job of staying in place. They fit perfectly in each spot as well, and there are also sticky squares that you can attach to the bottom to help them stay in place.

Like some places, they may fall off if you dont adhere them, for eg. the additional "secret" cupholder on the passenger side by the AC.

I highly recommended them, as I bought them because I used to have objects in some of my consoles that irritated the heck out of me because they kept on rolling inside and making so much noise!

They're at a really good price too! :)

More props for pilot pads... these things are excellent. They stop rattling, help keep your cups righted in the cupholders, and just generally keep anything from sliding around. They're easy to clean, and very well fit. Best budget mod out there!!!

I finally got to install ours! WOW!! They are real nice. Not real thick, so the don't take up space, but the do hold things in place. I am SSSOOO glad we got them. I would not cut them myself for the price he charges. These were a GREAT BUY!!!!

ok, I had an idea for Wilson....What do you all think.
He allways sends double stick tape with the kit, so you can stick the pads in place. I thought it would be nice to have a piece of the pad that would fit on the back wall of the upper glove box in the XD. I know things don't slip with the pads in there, but if you happen to keep a pen or something else round in there, it will roll. If the back wall was covered, then you won't get that "clunk" everytime you stop.
I know I could move the item. But you know us stubborn XD owners.
So what do you all think.......be nice!

If you are talking about a pen specifically, there is a small clip next to the storage area in the lower glove box that holds a pen. Otherwise, it might be a good idea for other rolling objects.

I need to order these. I have put it off too long!

I just used the pen as an example. But your right, there are lots of other things that could roll.
You will be pleased with them!

I use that clip to hold my tire gauge :) The pens I have are too fat for that lol.

Sounds like a good idea the extra piece of padding. I'd like to get one actually.

My pens are FAT too. I use those bic XXL. They are awesome! Tire gauge would work great there and is probably what it was made for, since it is so small. :)
I think the pad would be great! Even if you have flat items in there. If it isn't stacked just right and happens to fall when you stop, it won't clunk either.

Fat pens are silly. Uniball vision fine point. Perfect fit.

My tire pressure gauge however, was not purchased at a gas station. It does not fit.

I ordered my pads off of ebay and I love them. They fit perfectly and provide a wonderful no-slip surface! They give a nice "finished" feel to all of those nooks and crannies. :)

hi everyone,
I wanted to let everyone know that Wilson sent me a new pad to check out for him. We had discussed a pad for the back of the upper glove box, so that when things roll they won't "clunk" when they hit the back wall.
Wilson....I got the pad. Weather has been cold and rainy here. We are under flash flood warning, which is not fun when you only live about 4 miles from the Mississippi!
Soon as weather clears so I can get out there to put it in, I will post to let you know how it does.

Just got these last week and they're great! Perfect fit (each labeled, no confusion) and made very well. The pads in the glove compartment and cupholders have been holding up very well so far!

How is that back piece being kept up? Double sided tape?

mcmama96
03-27-2008, 03:05 AM
When you purchase the pads, Wilson sends a sheet of double sided tape squares. They are precut and ready to use.
