Hey guys, I'm a auto noob so please bare with my stupidity...

I'm looking at picking up an xA soon and want to upgrade the wheels and add the spoiler (among a few other things ).:wink:. My question is whether I should go with the Scion offered wheels (15 in) or buy them seperately? Seems like there are a lot nicer looking wheels out there that I could get for less than $650 (what dealer offers).

Why are the dealer offered wheels so much? Or is that not a lot? Again, sorry for my noobness.

You can certainly get cheaper, and better quality, but the dealer weheels aren't a bad deal.

Well if you prefer originality, then dealer's options aren't too bad. However, all dealership prices on their upgrades cost more, so it's ultimately your decision. Some people want to get all options added before they pick their cars up, so they do not have to go through the upgrades themselves later. Others may want to upgrade themselves to save some money, and/or they want theirs cars to look different. I personally like some of the options myself, but the products are too expensive from the dealer...so, I decided to get them later myself and self-install. Drawback? The biggest one will be warranty, and also you must have the skill or know someone with the skills to complete the installs yourself.

Whatever your decision, just remember one thing: do it the way you prefer and be happy with it. It's your car, so enjoy it at the fullest :)

Save your orginal wheels or trade them on some REASONABLY priced wheels/tires. There are several places you can get 17 inch wheel/tire combo's for less than the oem alloys. gotwheelsandtires.com and wheelsnext.com just to name a couple. CHECK IT OUT!!!! 8)

Drawback is the waranty?

Are you saying that getting wheels from somewhere besides the dealer would void the warranty on the car?!?

Warranty has nothing to do with it! The warranty doesn't cover tire and wheel damage anyway. If you buy aftermarket stuff it comes with their own product warranty. And NO it does not have any affect on your car's warranty.

Yes $650 is cheap for wheels.... Im looking into about $1400 on wheels & tires :shock:. Yes there are better out there. It goes on what you are looking for.

HELL NO, $650 for 15 inch factory wheels is a RIPOFF. The same money will get you a large variety of up to 17 inch wheels/tires not just wheels. Anyone that thinks $650 for just 15 in. wheels is good needs a reality check or they have too much money to burn :twisted:

Thanks Roger! I ended up getting th RS tho so wheels are no longer a problem.
