I was washing, claying, polishing and waxing my car last week. When I removed my roof rack I noticed a strip from the roof was attached and seems a nice rail below that strip exists on the roof. Seems it leads to the windshield area and was concerned about rust and any leakage.

Should I wax that area or use black silicon to help protect the metal under that area? Looks like a great place for water to stay if not get around the windshield.
