Default Pearl white interior

I'm in the process of painting some of the int. trim pieces pearl white. Basically everything that is silver is going to be painted, other than the buttons, and the trim piece around the gauges.

I have already done the trim around the shift boot and gauge.

i like to set it off a bit, to much of one color can be a bad thing. just a lil pearl will do me just fine.

I personally think that painting every single trim piece, especially the vents, looks really tacky

I agree. Painting too much can look very tacky, plus it will hurt on resale. Painting a few pieces to match body color, looks clean IMO. I plan on also painting some of the silver pieces only to match the white exterior.

I don't know about anyone else but I didn't buy a Scion to sell it again. Nor do I think Scion intended us to think about our cars that way.

Hey there are a few reasons one might want to be selling/trading in their car

I traded in my Scion
to get another Scion - so i was very worried about my resale/trade in value

Also, peoples lifestyles may change, such as having kids or getting a new job, which may require them to get a truck or a minivan

Some people need to sell their cars because they need the money.

In any case, there are quite a few reasons why one may worry about resale value without really wanting to trade in their car or sell it.

Sure but the point was the cars are meant to be customized and I think that's why a majority of people buy them.

it cracked on the inside of the display, i have to take it to the dealership to find out whats up this week. I think the heat caused it to crack. now it doesnt show anything but the blob of ink.

True to that but if you think about it, the majority of owners are still above the target that Toyota intended for Scion to be or people that prefer fuel economy over looks/customization.

Post some pixs when done. I would probably do the center console only.

If customization is your thing, then paint polka dots on it if thats what you like. My point is that I choose to customize subtle things, which will broaden the amount and type of people interested in the car...which in turn allows a better resale value. As for keeping the car, yes I plan to, but like many have said you never know what or why you may need to trade it in...and I would like to know that I havent hurt the value too bad with lots of mods and drastic changes. Heck for all we know Scion may come out with a revamped powertrain worthy of a trade in.

What paint did you use? I have a RS3 so i want to know to match =)

Other than that, that happened to my LCD screen for the HVAC because my friend and I were changing out the LEDs and he pressed on it too hard when we put it back in. I just got the HVAC from a salavage area because they dont just sell the LCD screen alone.

Pictures, looking nice =)
