ok, first of since I see your in AZ I am going to recomend you talk with Todd from TurboToyotas. I dont know if your familiar with Hasport, but i believe thats his daily grind.

Now moving onto your questions...
All of the information I am providing you with is from my personal experience and not what i've read on the boards.

I drive my Turbo xA at the least 50 miles per day. I have been turbo'd since middle of may, and I am still on the original motor.

I am running the greddy log manifold and 14g charger. All of my piping is custom. Greddy intercooler end-tanks have been modified. I am running the tC 370 injectors. My ONLY form of fuel management is currently the apexi neo (strictly controls MAF reading).

I began this setup by running 6lbs of boost on the factory ecu. The car ran GREAT exept for the switch from closed to open loop where i was experiencing a momentary lean condition (hence why i purchased the neo).

For the past two months i have been running anywhere from 9-12lbs depending on what type of fuel im running (93 or C16), and my mood....so YES i have been DD my car for 2 months on 8-9lbs with no major issues.

Here are the faulty areas i do know of:
Clucth (stocker is garbage even for the addition of intake and full exhaust lol)
Synchros (they suck if you powershift).

The axles arent bad as long as your not running slicks with high boost. Tranny has held up well, but like i said, the synchros dont really like quick/ power shifting (which most tranny dons anyways, but this is thye first one ive had which showed premature signs of wearing.

Hope that helps.

...and what route may that be?

I am actually in the process of changing my entire setup again lol.

I am goign to run the turbonetics t3 manifold w/ one of there new GTK chargers . It should be hella responsive on the spool up time.

all my roommates are mechanics and they kinda came up with a gameplan for my car. we're gunna get a turbo from garrett and one of the guys my roommate knows can make custom manifolds...like high quality work kinda manifolds. then really all is left is getting the misc. stuff. the chart we were looking at shows that im barely gunna have any lag from the turbo. so...im thinkin this is gunna be fun...lol. gotta save alot of money tho..

you should strongly consider purchasing a manifold, since its massed produced, there will be significant less costs and guess work involved. Comming from my experience with how close the motor is to the firewall, i think that may be a pricey mess your getting into. Nothing wrong w/ running the t3 turbonetics manifold which is setup for external wastegates and purchasing a nice ball bearing garrett.

let me know if you need any help.

not to sound like a a$$hole, but how are you going to fit the T3 turbo in between engine and firewall using a log type header?? Unless he makes something out of this world, equal length header just wont fit. I could be wrong...

the turbonetics manifold is a t3 log designed to mount the turbo behind the wall. Realisticlty, the t3 housings arent much larger than the garrett that todd uses or the turbo on my greddy setup.
