Default TC rear cargo cover

the flimsy cargo cover is starting to annoy the heck out of me. has anyone modded it so its more rigid? maybe put a board under it or spray epoxy resin on the bottom side so it can harden like what people do to make fiberglass?

Mine has held up fine after nearly 2.5 yrs and 46k miles... do you set stuff on yours a lot? Or would anything pull it down or something?

i was referring to the one that goes on top and snaps onto the rods on the headrest. its just a piece of fabric without any backing and i would like to find a way to make it more rigid, like the integra or what i have seen for the newer xB

No, I know what part you're talking about. The main piece over the trunk has some backing/reinforcement to it (though it could start to sag a tiny bit if you regularly set stuff on it or take it off and put it on a lot) and the part that stretches out to the seats is only fabric because it has to be able to move with the seats if the people in the back recline them.

You could always have a CF piece made for it or something.

I was going to ask if you knew they reclined... but thought I'd wait and see.

But the one semi-rigid piece of it could use a LITTLE more reinforcement at least. But they probably just wanted to keep costs down.

You could always lift the hard flap of your rear seats and stick the rear end in there. It fits real nice.

Haha... that's like the first thing that I tell people in the back seat... "hey, you can recline back there if you want..."

They're always like "oh, that's awesome!" It's neat.

yeah its neat and most of the sales people i get here dont know much =/ or look at like like im just a kid and don't know anything. i really don't like my dealership but the next ones like 20 mins away and i don't like them much either lol everwhere I go i get treated bad. like it took the dealership 4 months to return my cds from a hu that was swapted and everytime i called they said nope not here but they were sitting there for like a month. they are so many stories i have, its sad....

Mine saga like crazy, as I often use it as a laptop stand. I'd definitely be interested in a cheap and easy way to harden it. Would spray epoxy work, or would it just end up warping the damn thing?

i m gonna try to rig something up so it's similar to the sliding boards that cover the gaps when you fold down the rear seats. i figure since the cargo cover serves no purpose mechanically to support anything other than to keep wandering eyes from seeing what's in your trunk, i don't plan on using the headrest rod clips for this mod.

i dont see why you couldn't just glue to long flat 1 X 1/4inch pine sticks to the bottom to reinforce it
i mean hello.

just get a real thin piece of partical board or some substance and cut it to shape and atatch it to the bottom and there you go.

you could always try hooking something up where it goes up with the hatch.......kinda like the eclipse. that way it isn't in your way every time you open the hatch.
