Default Now that you've seen it, what do you think?

This is just a general musing, and I was wondering what other SL'ers thought:

If you've seen the xB_2 on the road, what are your thoughts?

The question is not intended to start a flame war. It's directed at xB_1 owners.

For me, I was surprised that it was still on the smallish side. It's pretty clear it's not as small as the first xB, though. It doesn't look like the drivers sit up high (or, the car's layout doesn't make it appear that the driver has a commanding view of the road).

I did not notice this until I saw it on the road, but it takes a lot of styling cues from the tC. It makes me wonder, since the xD looks like neither.

I also expected to see a ton on the road, but it could just be where I'm located. I've seen two on the road, one at a dealership. Of the two, one was a test driver (usual test drive dealer tag on it).

That blue green color is both impressive and disgusting. Impressive because it reminds me of an oil painting with how opaque it is; disgusting because it reminds me of bathrooms modeled in the 50s and 60s. But, it's unique!

I saw my 1st one on I95 this past weekend. I was in the left lane, the xb2 was in the right lane and at first, i mistook it (i had the side view only at the time) i mistook it for the nissan murano or the infiniti fx35.

when i got a better look at the back of it, i was like oh my it's an xB. l0l.

i duno what to think of it really. my opinion as of now is neutral. looks wise, i dislike it but that's just me. im sure, as many others have said, the ride quality must be awesome.

IMO, they don't stand out as much as the first gen - for better or for worse, depending on your viewpoint. I've seen only a handful and at first glance I always think its a Chevy HHR. For a while on my way to work I'd see a 1st gen and a 2nd gen parked next to each other and the 2nd gen would just blend into the background. I think in stock trim it's too boring. Put the Five-Axis kit and some rims on it and I think it looks ALOT better. But I'd rather us getting the new JDM bB. I think it's funny that the USDM xB2 will be sold in Japan possible as a Corolla!

The styling of the rear is too much like other minivans and crossovers. I keep on thinking that I've spotted an xB2 until I realize it's a Ford or Nissan.

It's the anti-xB. The xD stays true to the original xB formula.

they have some potential, i have seen a couple around here and they were just kind of plain, like they could get lost in a crowd (xB1 never had that problem) but i have seen one on a set of 20's, lowered, and had the front blacked out (like the new jettas and gti's) it was really nice...its more of like an xB for my mom or something, not for me...

Agree 100%. i considered - if i were to trade my xB, what would i get? i said no to the tC cuz i think it is going to change shape soon (better to spend the $ on the newer model in case of the tC) and for the xB, i said f it - i'd get the xD before the xB. i think a lot of people feel this way.

true with all of you...don't like it at all...they just totally drew away from the whole aspect of "Scion." yah, it's a bit larger and spacier, but what HAPPENED!!?? I'm pretty sure the designers fell asleep along the way of its outcome. Theres a whole bunch of 'em cornered in the dealer lot here with only about 3 or 4 that I've seen..(all test drivers LOL)...and not a single 1st Gen xB with them, we're all cruisin'...Hey Scion, next design...keep it real!!

Every time I think I see one it ends up being something else. It has no character and does not automatically tell you "look at me, I'm an xB2". I often think it's an element or minivan at first glance. They will sell a bunch tho but I doubt the same percentage will be modded like the classic xBs were.
They basically have zero show potential but will do the job for everyday people just fine.

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/?p=3729 And thats why I dont like the 2nd gen xb And another thing I noticed about the 2nd gen xb is that it’s going to needs a lot of expensive mods to look a little deferent from the rest of the 2nd gen xb’s now I know this will change in time but for now they will have to just deal with it or spend some major bank just to look cool, unlike the 1 gen xb all you had to do was drop it and put some rim’s on and the little box would look tight!! The little box with a few mods (lights, grill, wing) and the box would look so different for very little $$ I also like the way body kit’s like KENSTILE keep the look stock yet cool like if it came like that from the dealer unlike the 2nd gen if it had a kit like the KENSTILE kit it would just look vanilla to me, I think the 2nd gen needs to have a very aggressive looking kit to look hot not to say that the 1gen’s don’t have aggressive kits they do but they don’t need to have them to look hot , and if you are in to power, the lighter car always win’s in my book ether with a starlet 4e-fte 1331cc 16 valve twin cam turbo charged / intercooler or a 2ZZ-GE 1795cc DOHC 4 Chain Driven VVTL-I ether one of the engines will do the trick to quench the thrust for power so to make a long story short I LOVE MY true 1 GEN bB.

we all know scion dropped the ball, they pushed aside their loyal customers and tried to get the maintstream soccer moms now. It is a business decision, they dont care f the burn a few bridges and urt the loyalists.
