I have looked but cannot find the location of the oil filter. Also checked owners manual and if it is there, I missed it. Does anyone know where the oil filter is located on the new xB? Is there a plastic panel covering the oil filter that must be removed before it can be seen?

If same as other 2.4 look on the passenger front corner of the oil pan. The original filter should be the standard black Toyota filter, so it can be hard to see

The oil filter is on the passenger side of the engine on the front. The front underbody plastic shield is blocking it from view. If you get under the car and look you'll see a small rectrangle piece on the shield that looks out of place. Remove the fastener and it folds down so you can get to the oil filter.
