I am thinking about trading in my 06 Xb for an 08 XB. I am looking for any negative's that people might have noticed on the 08 compared to the 1st gen. Pro's and Con's list them. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I did that same thing last wednesday and i have a new polar white 08 xb. I do not miss my 06 at all. This car has much more get up and go. More room. To me looks better, drives better, diesels don't blow you off the road. I haven't found a negative yet on the car but if i get one i will post it. So far me and my wife have nothing but praises for the car and when my friends all saw it they loved it as well. Hope that helps.

I can only think of one negative... it will cost money. Other than that, it's all positives.

when i test drove one the other day. i friggin loved it...Didn't really have anything bad to say about it, except the dealer charges too much for accessories.

Definitely love mine over my dad's '06. Quieter and much quicker. Though, that gas mileage is gonna hurt me. The tank is just a hair too small for my liking. (100 mile a day drive for work)

I love my '08!

The only thing I can see as a potential negative since I do drive both models is that the '06 does have a LITTLE bit better visibility. There's a little more glass to see out of in my wife's '06 as opposed to my '08.

This could just be me, though.

Thanks for the feedback. Money is not really a problem. I just need something that has more get up and go. I love my 06. It just has no nuts. I went from a Tundra to my 06 XB. So the power thing hurt.

I had an 05, and when I test drove the 08 I fell in love. I live in the same area as you tkanaz, and if you drive like i do, it involves a lot of freeway driving, so the mileage isn't that much worse. There is DEF a noticeably more amount of get up and go in the new ones. I haven't found anything wrong with the 08 yet, in my opinion, it beats the previous xB's in just about every possible way.

I still have both. The only real negative for me is the gas mileage. But for the added power, it doesn't bother me one bit. I do miss the grocery bag hooks though.

I had to drive the old one to get groceries the other day and it was really awkward driving with so little torque. The weather was hot so I turned on the AC and it didn't do a whole lot and the engine lost even more power. It made me really appreciate my 08.

Is there anything wrong with your 06?

I say this because I don't see the point in replacing a car you bought brand new 2 years ago.

On the other hand, I love my 08.

I agree with that, BUT what if his circumstances have changed? For example I'd say a newborn would tilt the scale in favor of the xB2(better safety with side curtain airbags, and additional heft is a plus in an accident no matter how you slice it), so would someone that does a lot of highway miles (passing/merging power). Just a thought...

I do mostly in town driving. And I am getting around 24mpg from my 06. I t is exactly 1 year and 4 days ago I bought it. It had 24 miles on it when I left Camelback Toyota. I now have a little over 11,000 on it. I really like the fact that the safety standards on the 08 are far superior to the 1st gen. I have a 7 year old. So that's a bonus.
