Default Nav display brightness vs headlights

I often drive with my headlights on in the daytime for safety, especially when it's raining. When I turn on the headlights the nav display goes into night mode, which is very difficult to see in the daytime. Any workarounds for this?

Thanks...

Mike

reading the manual or playing with the settings (Display Function maybe?) works wonders for problems like this...

Yep - hit the "info" button in the bottom left then select daytime lighting - I do the same thing in the rain...

Your description gets the point across, but it is actually the "disp" button - and the headlights have to be on for it to give you option for "day mode".

Thanks, I'll try that.

Been reading the crate of manuals I got with this beastie for the last three days and must have overlooked that.

BTW, programming instructions for the security system are a real hoot. Insert/remove key from ignition three times in five seconds, open drivers door, lock/unlock three times, close door, dance Irish jig, lock/unlock a few more times, and now we've got it's attention. Then open/close the door 1/2/3/4 times depending on how you want to program it, rotate the tires, and fiddle with the key some more...

Picked up Junior (other vehicle is much larger/older F150) on Saturday, #4 sold in this area according to dealer. Getting some odd looks from folks wondering what it is. One commented it looks like a gangster car out of the 1930s and there ought to be a guy in a cheap pinstripe suit in the back seat with a tommy gun.

Well, if you get the Tommy gun, you might as well suicide the doors.

Does look a bit sinister with the short (height) windows and their black window trim, and the black front-end trim. Funny I didn't notice all the black trim on the demos I took out for testing. Demos (white and silver) were different colors than my teal, maybe the trim is a different color as well. Guess I'll have to have another look at the dealer's lot.
