Default TRD Struts and Springs

Hey everyone, I tried searching, but wanted more opinions on the product regarding ride quality. My tC's a daily driver and soon I'll be roadtripping it from state to state, I wanted to know if the ride will be rougher or smoother compared to stock? Thanks!

many people will say that the struts wont be necessary since the TRD drop is minimal and shouldnt put much stress on the stock struts? You can do without and save yourself the $500+. I opted for them with my Hotchkis springs cause the drop was more than TRD and i was ridding on stock shocks for quite some time and thought i needed an upgrade. Didnt notice MUCH of a difference. I did notice SOME. Not a big night and day difference but better than stock struts. I would of gone with Koni shocks but didnt like the fact that i had to cut my stock struts in order to use the Koni's. Didnt want to pay $600+ and still have to do more for them. IMO, its a decent upgrade but you can do without. Some have them and some dont. If you have more money i would say save for coilovers.

The ride will be terrible. You'll never want to drive the car. Ever.

I find it a little bumpier, but tolerable. I like it alot more that stock because of the handling difference

What exactly are struts and their purpose? Pardon my ignorance, I'm fairly new to suspension and cars.

Very basically, you have a spring, which is obviously going to do its spring thing when you hit an uneven spot in the road. Now, if this spring is just left alone, its going to do what any spring will do... spring up and down.

To keep it from constantly springing up and down and to smooth out compression and extension, you have a shock/strut/whatever - a damping device that slows down movement of the spring.

At least that's my understanding of the basics.

Cool, thanks man. I really appreciate it. Are there commonly packages that come with springs & struts? Preferably TRD shocks, because those are what I'm looking into getting.
