View Full Version : for the sake of all xA owners,,,, subcode 10-13-2004, 07:13 AM yeah lower it and put a body kit on it...you will never stop looking at your xA...guarantee! for sure. tschangrx7 10-13-2004, 01:24 PM Minimum requirement on xA: lower it! Body kit: optional. TheDanger 10-13-2004, 01:32 PM agreed...must have springs to buy an xA. Its the law! Carlanga 10-13-2004, 02:00 PM stock= so so, cute lowered=Sick ride :D stellarhavoc 10-13-2004, 03:36 PM yep... drop those xAs! I think i lowered mine w/in 2 weeks of getting it :P w/o it being lowered... it just looks awkward to me :? mikochu 10-13-2004, 03:45 PM *cries* I need to lower mine too... I don't know what springs to get... Tein, H&R, Hotchkis, Eibach...TRD?! AHHHH I'll get a body kit AFTER wheels... :D TakumiJr 10-13-2004, 04:56 PM I recently dropped my xA and I love it. I couldn't stand the xA wheel gap, so I bought Tein S-tech springs :D . I'm picking up a set of used ASA JS5's wheels 18's for now because wheels are a must with a lowered car. GloriousMidget 10-13-2004, 08:34 PM I need to lower mine too... I don't know what springs to get... Tein, H&R, Hotchkis, Eibach...TRD?! AHHHH Seeing Takumi's and BacknblackxA's xA has convinced me to get tein s-techs...they look perfect! the cheapest place that I've found so far is on ebay for $145 (shipping included) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7926333537&category=33582 jeak 10-13-2004, 09:26 PM Sorry, guys. No offense, but that lowered look does nothing for me. Body kits hurt my eyes even more. I know, I know, I'm way too old for this group. But I like my xA just the way it came, wheel gap and all. I'll need that ground clearance for deep mountain snow, and I kinda like the SUV look anyway. Just give me cruise control for my lazy old gas foot and some window tint to protect my ever wrinkling skin. I'll save all that mod money for my prescription drugs. OK, boys and girls, back to your regularly scheduled programming. :D Hey, moderators, how about a forum just for us stodgy owners of stock xAs? Placebo 10-13-2004, 09:28 PM wasnt this locked? mikochu 10-13-2004, 09:33 PM wasnt this locked? why would this be locked? djct_watt 10-13-2004, 10:25 PM I love my TRD's. . . they don't scrape easily and they look good. Lowering should be STANDARD. Placebo 10-13-2004, 10:31 PM wasnt this locked? why would this be locked? I got this thread confused with this one http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30396 the guy is saying the same thing and it was posted be4 this 1 but it was locked. mikochu 10-13-2004, 10:43 PM I got this thread confused with this one http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30396 the guy is saying the same thing and it was posted be4 this 1 but it was locked. oh, I don't even know who locked that one... *shrug* TakumiJr 10-14-2004, 05:40 AM I don't scrape with my Teins  also I measured the clearance today. 6.5" from the ground to the front bumper and 6.5" from teh ground to the sideskirts 8) hotbox05 10-14-2004, 06:00 AM yes teins and a fabulous kit(or any other kit ) bensonwrx 10-14-2004, 06:16 AM Well I chose my first add-on/mod being the security system over the springs...safety of the car comes first :) But I agreed that car would look nicer if it's lowered a bit. With all the reads on STB being difficult to install and OEM struts/shocks being broken w/aftermarket springs. I guess I will save up and do everything at the same time...plus need to get some paint for the calipers...just being lazy jct 10-14-2004, 11:18 PM i aint gonna lower my Xa costs way too much and i like it just the way she is TrafficinLA 10-14-2004, 11:29 PM I know I have a tC and this is an xA thread. But does it seem like all Scion models should have been dropped before they're out of the assembly line? It's like Scion/Toyota jacked the cars up just so we have to buy springs to make it look right. :? PandaIst 10-14-2004, 11:31 PM Yah I say lower the xA. Stock height is just ridiculous. I guess bodykits are optional. From past experiences dealing with bodykits, I won't let my scion go through it. beckysuemomof2 10-14-2004, 11:47 PM About how much does it cost to have this done? TakumiJr 10-15-2004, 12:12 AM Springs vary from $145-220 or $800-1800 for coilover set up. Installion are free if your doing it yourself  or around $100 for a shop to do it. GINNJUICE 10-15-2004, 04:15 AM indeed lowering is a must !!! ScionXaBb 10-15-2004, 10:03 AM seems like a waste of money... Back in my day..heh heh....these mods were done with a hacksaw. Most of us were trying to RAISE the car in the ___-end anyway. guess times r a changin....and so will your priorities in life.... I need to go take my Canadian Meds now....the nurse just told me so :) SCI_FIRE 10-16-2004, 03:05 PM I agree with ya... the cars need to be lowered. I just thank God I didn't get the 2" lowering springs. If I had, my front lip would be smashed all to heck. I've never driven such a small, lowered car before. There have been several times that I have gotten out to see how well I parked, and the curb was only 1/4 inch under the front lip. I have since learned not to let the front of the car go over the curb. jct 10-16-2004, 03:13 PM now if i lower my car i don't think it'll do very well in the deep snow or i might get hung up in the mud ;) ;) ;) lol yeah right i aint goin muddin lol i would lower it if i was in warmer climints with NO snow or ice BLeeK 10-17-2004, 03:24 AM I could park my xB in the xA wheel gap...(I love xA's before you start flaming) if you have yet to see subcodes xA, LOOK FOR IT NOW!!!
