View Full Version : Sneak Peak From Hotchkis
HotchkisSusp 08-24-2007, 11:05 PM Here's a sneak peak of the Hotchkis Sport Suspension rear bar for the 08 Scion xB. The bar features lightweight, tubular construction, greasable bushings and mounts, and a easy installation with no vehicle modifications.
We haven't taken the bars to the track for testing yet, but our initial bars feel great. The bars currently on the car are 1 1/4" (31.75mm) front and 1" (25.4mm) rear.
Currently in development. Estimated availability September 07

To get the full potential of the sway bars, it is better to go with the Front & Rear sway bar kit. The front sway bar improves turn in and quick steering response and the rear sway bar helps with the rotation around the corners. Using both bars together reduces overall body roll. The goal is to not only reduce under steer, but to also reduce the amount of transition time it takes for the car to maneuver.

We have a question here at Hotchkis, and that is, what color would you like to see the sway bars come in? Please answer the POLL QUESTION so we can see what you want!

Whispaz 08-25-2007, 12:04 AM black and gunmetal look good but i chose red
black and gunmetal are too dark -- i want to show off my Hotchkis wares :P
and red is what TRD uses -- don't want to be mistaken as sporting their bar  , when yours will most definitely be better
what about White or Blue or Yellow?
ScionFred 08-25-2007, 02:30 AM I vote for gunmetal so it won't be mistaken for the TRD sway bar that perfectly matches the stock front bar. I imagine that your bars will be stiffer for better handling but worse ride quality.
uberspeed 08-27-2007, 05:01 AM Red is what I've traditionally seen manufacturers use for sway bars. Autotech and Neuspeed are examples from my VW days.
roXor_boXor 08-27-2007, 06:17 AM Yellow or White would stand out and be clearly not TRD.
ScionFred 08-27-2007, 10:15 PM Yellow would be awesome.
HotchkisSusp 08-28-2007, 09:03 PM Thanks for all off your input! We have our first kit ready and we want to give it away! We are looking for the coolest looking scion xB out there. Post your pics and hotchkis will decide who will be the first xB owner to sport our new Gun Metal Grey sway bars!

Hey Hotchkis guy, could you answer this one for me?
timmer357 09-03-2007, 04:35 PM I would say pic me, but how can I compete with XXLAsian...that thing is silly and already is sporting the company name. Gunmetal on my silver would look great though.

update with this?
when should i be expecting the sways? hehehe...
ScionFred 09-07-2007, 06:30 AM Hotchkis probably bought a TRD sway bar and copied it. I'd buy whichever one costs less.

Hmmm...don't know where you came up with that... :eyebrow:
However they DID NOT. Hotchkis is one of the leaders in Suspension parts and has been for a long time. They took measurements of the new xB when it was released to the public and built their sway bars from the them...they didn't make copies of the TRD sway bars.
xseveredveganx 10-24-2007, 01:23 AM I'm just curious how many other people are anticipating this...
I know I am! First it was sometime in August for availability. Then late September. I'm pretty sure it'll be after SEMA as others have stated, but I want it NOW!!!! Lol!!
NoLimitzBuilt 10-24-2007, 05:03 AM I was told from Hotchkis that it wont be out till after SEMA. I am hoping soon also. I would like to have one on the xB also.
madpb 11-19-2007, 12:38 AM I will take the whole kit . Springs and sways bars please.
Yesterday I ordered the tanabes and these sway bars. I will let you know how it works out.
madpb 12-26-2007, 03:52 AM I emailed Hotchkis trying to find out when their springs will be ready. I was thinking of cancelling the DF210 order. No answer back from Hotchkis.
