Default Upgraded alarm Horn Issue

I have the upgraded alarm on the b2. It normally just chirps/tweets when i arm/disarm the b2 but since removing the battery to put in my avic-d3 it now honks and chips/tweets. Any way to turn off the horn when disarming and arming, and just leave it to the chirp/tweet?

I figured out the issue. The dealer ship sends their cars off to have a after market alarm system installed. I called and _____ed at the service desk, and he finally put me in contact with the installers personal cell. It was very simple quick fix he walked me through over the phone. Im shocked that they didnt use the scion alarm, but used somthing called FA-110 from autopage. It uses the factories FOB. Only cool thing, is there is not expansion choices.

When I had the alarm installed they gave me a specific manual on th alarm put in.

I didn't get the scion security alarm either I guess- A KARR alarm is what I had installed.

The manual explains the very easy steps to stop the honking. Mine did that too...

Edit:
Crap I didn't notice you replied to yourself..........

karr alarm was 399.00 from the dealer and it is a closed loop system meaning very hard to get around, and if the car is stolen they will pay you your deductible on your insurance up to 2000.00. I had them put it in because the guy could do it why i finished up the paper work so i went with it. I like it.

I'm pretty sure the horn honking is in the car's manual since it's a function of the door locks and would honk whether the alarm was installed or not.

I found it in some documentation three years ago... so it's definitely in either: http://mikehmayer.com/stuff/xB/KARR%204040a.pdf or in the car's manual.

They use KARR or AUTOPAGE (which are very cheap and crappy alarms imo) because they can buy the alarm for about 20-30 bucks then they charge you about 400-500. Huuuuge income. Your better off buying an aftermarket alarm at that price.

What the dealership (most dealers anyway) does is give every car they get to their install guys, they prewire everything, test it out. Then remove the brain and give it to the dealer. The dealer then offers you the security system, you fill out the paperwork, they lay on their back, plug it in and ziptie it in place. It probably takes about 15-20 minutes to prewire it (when you do the same car over and over you can do it in your sleep). I install alarms and I love getting toyota cars in because every wire is already tagged usually and it takes the install time down to almost nothing.

Its a very lucrative way of doing business. But if you do your research you can get a killer viper alarm with remote start and 1 mile 2 way paging for about 500-600 installed. This info is a lil too late but hopefully it helps someone make a more informed purchase in the future.

edit: oh and as far as being hard to disable, no alarm is hard to disable if you know what your doing. Alarms are mostly for piece of mind and deterrent from noob theives. There are a few simple tricks to disable most alarms, which I wont disclose but just keep in mind it wont keep your car from getting stolen, just deter or slow down the person trying to get in.
