leaking turbo seals?
I re did my vacuum lines today, a better way, cuz i had a leak.
After i did it i reset my ecu, and started the car, let it sit for a little.
went to drive it around, normal driving, no boost at all, and I started smoking white out of my exhaust.
When I got bat home I opened up my hood and I had oil on the inside of my BOV, so i opened up the charge pipe before the BOV at the compressor, and found oil in the pipes!!

would this be a leaking turbo seals, or would it be because I dont have an oil catch can??

Sadly enough this is a pirk of running a mitsubishi heavy industries turbo. I am running the same tdo5 on my tc. A small amount of oil is normal and would not be worth your worry. But if you are getting smoke and a consistent build up of oil in the intake system, you should look fo some assistance from your turbo provider.
well my turbo provider is in the ____s hole right now.
ZPI FTL!!!
edit: its only about 3-4k miles old. I got it in june, and it just started today!! Never any signs of oil before today!

i checked mine too cause the bov wasnt going off and sure as crap the bov vacum lines had oil in them then i checked the intake side and it had a very small amount of oil not as much as urs but it did have some i cleaned out the vacuum lines and t s for the vacumms and the bov works fine now but i think i might need a better turbo. the turbonetic turbos are crappy, thinking off buyin the innotive dual bearing turbo. and im deff getting an oil catch can this might help a little bit. another thing is the car is making a weird noise at cold starts its either the turbo or my friend said he thinks its the valves which i pray are not
mine did the same thing. It turned out that it was the oil return line. It got kinked so i went to a steelbraded line cleaned out all the pipeing and the turbo. I put it all back together and it has been just fine. That turbo is a littel stronger then people give it credit for. You could try a new oil line good luck on things sorry to hear your having problems.
My turbonetics kit was taken off just a few weeks ago and after a year of use I didnt have any trace of oil in the piping. Of course I did have a leaking seal on the exhaust side which caused smoke.

I hope none of this happens to my car anytime soon lol.
Im running a used stage 0 at the moment (Was on BASH's Car)
What's the main cause for seals to break??
I noticed the other day my BOV wasn't working then I realized my cap on the vac line came off. No oil leaks or sign of oil problems on mine at all.
My oil return is a red hose =P Literally a red cute hose.

there ya go travis, no its not that long.
seals tend to leak when you dont let the car warm up properly before stepping on it, or shutting it down without letting it cool off properly, which is not an issue with me, i remote start it every morning for 15 minutes, and the turbo timer is set at 2 minutes
I was told by someone that if i sent my turbine with my invoice from zpi to turbochargers.com I could get it replaced for free because the kit is only 3 months/4000 miles old.
Can anyone confirm this? I emailed turbochargers.com and am waiting for a response

i have oil in the intake as well as many others. however, mine's is due to the pcv/breather (i'm not sure which it is) hose recirculating into the intake.
does your car blow white smoke indicating leaking seals on the exhaust side as well?

Notice on the turbo that the center section is rotated about 45 degrees to far forward. The two oil holes should be on the top and bottom. Feed on top and drain on the bottom. Haveing the turbo rotated like this impeeds flow out of the turbo. This is a very common cause of blowing out turbo seals. Plus on this turbo (cheaper) there really needs to be a .061 inch oil restrictor on the turbo feed.
