So I have this HUGE emblem from the dealer on the back of my new ride. I'd love to get that thing off of there without killing the paint. How would a guy go about that?

View Full Version : Dealer Emblem. How to Remove? FragMaster_B 10-14-2004, 01:43 PM So I have this HUGE emblem from the dealer on the back of my new ride. How would a guy go about that? sindekat 10-14-2004, 01:47 PM Ironic a dealer is answering this-we dont put emblems like that on our cars-its kinda cheezy. If it is a decal-use a heat gun or hair dryer on the surrounding metal-it should come off easily afterwards. Dont get to close to damage the paint-just enough to heat the metal. If it is a plastic label with 2 sided tape-rip off the label carefully so it doesnt snap off and strike the paint, then you can use the same process or some liquid bug and tar remover to get rid of the residue. Dont over do-it can eat through the paint. Best way-tell the frikin dealer to take it off because you dont want it there!! Good luck marcelino firesquare 10-14-2004, 01:48 PM do you have a pic? if it's like our scion emblem in the rear, you can go to tech and use a heat source to peel the glue and the stupid emblem off. or you can take it to the dealer and have them take it off. just sweet talk the sales manager and he or she probably won't charge you Eddie 10-14-2004, 01:48 PM I used a heat gun on mine and it took maybe 5 minutes to get both emblems off. TheDanger 10-14-2004, 01:58 PM Use heat...hands...time..then after you get it off clean the sticky stuff left over off with goo gone. Done! FragMaster_B 10-18-2004, 01:54 PM Thanks for all this input fellas. Got that damn thing off this weekend without incident. ayS 10-19-2004, 12:00 AM Thanks for all this input fellas.
