I was wondering has anyone changed out the front amber turn bulbs and replaced with a white bulb so you don't see all that orange reflecting. And if so are they bright enough in the day time. I found a chp site that says they are legal in california. But really i'm concerned about other people seeing my signal when it's on. So has anyone done this yet?

 

I do not think they are legal...........well the light is, but the orange side marker cannot be changed.

I am in NC and have the silverstars for the turn signals. they seem as bright as stock lights and are orange when active and blue when not. No complaints from law enforcement or dealer about them

silverstar tends to make good products. i would assume they would make them bright enough.

 

Get chrome bulbs. they will still be amber when the light but have a chrome look when thet are not lit,

I have some white LED's in my 1st gen, and i have no problems with people seeing them.
I also have my sidemarkers changed to white too.

 

White turn signals are legal in Cali, so yes, you can use plain 'ol clear bulbs. It might blend with your headlights at night, but since the new xB has projectors, you can probably still see the seperate flash.

I hate silverstar turn signals. I don't want my housing to look blue when they're off. Too ricey.

Chrome/amber bulbs are your best bet.

i have the chrome bulbs. the color orange is a nice reddish orange too

 

The crome bulbs do lighten up after a while, but they still look really good. i highly reccomend them.

 

there is a replacement relay that you can get that has the proper blink for the LED bulbs. i am in the middle of doing a full LED conversion on my xB and that is the first thing that i bought. PM me if you need the info of where i got my stuff, i'll send you the links.

Super-white chrome bulbs. This is the link where I found them, but don't order these because they are back-ordered. Call them and they will lead you to the same bulbs that are in stock but a different brand name.

I've got 24 LED clusters courtesy of Sean(LEDMod), I've had them here in Vegas for about 4 months and I've never had an issue with cops. I'm sure if I rolled out to Cali that'd be another story...
