I just got a tC the other day and I love everything about it so far except the head and tail lights. I have seen other people tint the tail lights on previous year models. I was wondering if anyone has done this or has pictures of this before i jump in and do it. Much thanks is appreciated to any comments and photos.

Anyone know what they charge to do a set?

 

Looking for someone who has tinted their light with the Nightshades spray. I want to know how dark each coat is. I am thinking of only tinting the red housing inside of the taillights and my mirror signals. I also wanted to find a clear corner for the head lights also. I have had no luck finding one for the 08 headlight. Anyways just some ideas i am throwing up about my lighting system.

 

I plan on just buying the pre cut tint sheets off of ebay and having my tint shop install them when I get the car tinted. I hate the ugly '08 tails and just want to cover the entire taillight. I think the '08s look sexy completely tinted. Just another suggestion.

Nice those tails do look sexy. I would still like to hear from someone that has used the tinting spray. I really want to know how dark each coat makes the lens.

 

Is it illegal to tint tails? I'm sure it varies state to state, but I live in NY..

(hinting if anyone knows NY state laws about tinting rear tails??)

Yeah I was wondering the same too, I live in TX. I've seen a ton of cars driving around though with tinted tails, some even so dark you can barely see the lights. I think if you go with a pure black smoke or tint that really obstructs light from shining out then that is too much. I don't think cops will give you too much beef over a light tint, if you can clearly see the lights still when you apply the brakes, that's all that matters. Just my .02

 

it's illegal in nh but was only a problem an inspection. if ny is the same way then just find someone else to do the inspection.

 

3 coats of a 40/60mix (40%black paint/ 60% clear)

can see just as well now as you could before the painting...

 

That looks really good on a BSP. I want to go a little bit lighter than that for mine though. I think getting the paint mixed and sprayed with an air gun is going to leave me the best over all look. I am thinking of only tinting the red housing the the taillight. Anyone know locally where I could buy tinting spray. I have been to very autopart store in town a few hobby and craft shops and nothing. I know I can order it off line just trying to find it locally. I think i might just find someone with a compressor and a paint gun and just make the paint myself and do it. Well it will be another week before i can start play with them.

hey orangesuburban...how much did the person charge you to do your tail lights?

 

$75 for paint/labor and i paid shipping both ways (hes in Florida)... all the people in LR i spoke to want $125+ so i think i still spent that much after shipping and such but at least this way i gave the money to a "friend" (know his from another forum)
