Default Is it me or is the 5-sp tC LOUD!???

My tC is so loud when i'm driving. I am usually around 80-85 mph and the noise from the engine and the road is just loud. It ruins the music listening experience. Anyone else feel the same?

I believe it's the tires, I'm pretty sure it's bigger than your previous car's. This is 17", dunno if it matters, but i think i heard that the bigger they are, the louder it is. I realized that noise the first day i got it. Don't worry, just put it into FEEL mode and crank it up, it'll be alrite, that's what i do.

My MR2 is loud (mid engine, turbo, loud exhaust, etc) hahaha... this car is very quiet even at 80. Also if you feel it is loud, then turn up the radio or dynamat the car.

I don't think my TC is loud at all!

The engine runs at about 4k rpm at those speeds (I run those speeds every day on my commute, I know what I'm talking about here) and the only minor complaint I have is some wind noise from the sunroof, but that's just because the wind is whistling between the window panes on the roof. No big deal.

As far as the road noise, some dynomating would help, but when you run with 17 inch rims your tires are low profile and will produce more noise. You could find a 15 inch rim and put it on, that would help. But then again, now you have 15" rims

no, don't sell it. just replace the stock headlamp fluid with low intensity headlamp fluid. you can get it at kragens.

I dont think the post was asking for your oppinion of me. I think the point was to see what others thought about the noise level of the vehicle, which is something that all cars are judged by because some people care. If my only concern about the car is its noise level (which is a matter of taste), I am definitely not a whiny b*tch.

It's a bit loud at times...depending on the road surface...but it's pretty quiet for 17k.

Happy motoring :D

If you want loud take a drive in my Elantra that will give you a headache

I have an exhaust on my tC and it still seems pretty quiet even at 100+

If you don't mind me asking. What car are you comparing the road noise to? How long have you own the tC? Have you ever driven a car with low profile tires before?
