Default Static Dusters = Crazy Speedometer

(I edited my title to be less vague)

Went through the car wash and then hit the auto parts store to get some detailing stuff today. Gave the inside of the windows a quick once over and then used a microfiber duster (looks like lots of strings/yarn/whatever on a flat triangle-shaped brush type thing). Turned on my car and

Thankfuly I'm familiar with static charge and build up. I've seen this before. Basicly there is a static charge built up with no ground. Likely because the entire LCD fixture is mounted on plastic peices.

It *should* go away, but I'll be swinging by the dealer if it doesn't seem to clear up on its own. I figured I'd post it with a "Dont freak out (yet)" message because im sure this will happen to some one else. (Unless my LCD shorted out and it was just a coincidence that i was using that duster)

Kind of a bummer. The duster works great!

Yea Go to the dealer if it doesn't clear up but do not give them too much information. Some wisebutt service manager may find some way to pin it on you. Meanwhile i'm gonna be super careful around the gauges.

Def want to know what happens... another little tip for my box customers. Hope it clears up, though. Funny how even little blemish to your car can get you psyched out.

there is no way to press on it. the whole cluster has a clear plastic window over it that has a space between it and the gauges.
